The elephant in the room is Espino.

He hasn't pitched in well over 60 days...due to some mysterious soreness in both a knee and shoulder.

Thats more than mere caution.

He twisted his knee covering 1st. Not really a mystery there. A sprain but nothing surgically serious.

Guy who uses his legs more than most when he pitches, a leg injury is treated a bit differently.

Shoulder stuff came along during the early part of the throwing program, not a problem anymore.

He’s too important to push back into play on a normal IL cycle. He’ll be as close to 100% as a guy can be in the middle of the season before he’s back.

At the moment no, it is a long season and he isnt used to that yet. Compare his numbers and swings a weekish from now and if you see major changes then I would be concerned...

Considering the performances of LHSP Will Dion in Lynchburg & RHSP Tommy Mace in Lake County this season, is it out of line to switch the 2 for the rest of the season???

Dion deserves the promotion & challenge of a higher level..
Mace needs to keep pitching & have some successes to rebuild his confidence.

Benson has REALLY shortened his swing path.. he's soooo much quicker to the ball..

Ho hum, another BOMB for Benson. 14th on the year. Ho hum is a .906 OPS good? Ho hum 14 SBs. Ho hom rocket arm and an elite defender. Also up to .256.

But yet we continue to pretend the Myles Straw experiment must go on. Benson should have been up for Straw last week, which is what I said. Unreal.

Myles is the perfect 4th OFer, defensive replacement and pinch runner, he shouldn't be going down even if slumping. If they deal Franmil it opens up a spot for Benson.
