2022 Minor League Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Everyday player approaching a .299 OBP, no he doesn't hit, or get on. But he will crank up a sacrifice fly.
He started off hotter than a firecracker then got colder than a popsicle. His minor league career suggests he's a hitter and he's warmed up quite a bit the last several games. "Doesn't hit" is an exaggeration. Streaky? So far yes.

I don't think trying to play 1B has helped him much either.

Naylor is playing on one leg.

Both have five errors at first base in about the same amount of innings.

Naylor has a neutral DRS of 0. Miller is at -1.

But the real story is handling difficult throws that don't count in the error totals. Naylor stretches and scoops well. Miller whiffs far too often.

Naylor has visibly improved over the season. Miller has not.

I think we can do better looking into another direction, eventually anyways. He's apart of the redundancy a little bit. No power. Then count in below average fielding, 0.2 WAR I believe, when he isn't slapping the ball through holes, or down the line, he's quite overmatched. The book may be out on him, we haven't seen a hot streak to make us believe otherwise other than the first month.

Miller hasn't really whiffed... his was more of it coming out of his glove, which I believe he has changed... (I have a hunch he was using someone else's gloce for 1B)...

You could be right or......

I'm a bit miffed by his lack of power lately because he demonstrated descent power prior to this recent absence of it. For me, I'm not holding Miller accountable for his play at 1B because he's not one and should have never been one for this team IMO. I suspect it's blown him off course a bit in terms of his hitting, but that's just a suspicion on my part.

Recent lack of power? He hasn't hit a homer since May 17th. We're going on 2+ months now.

If we are talking Miller, he is a doubles hitter, who occasionally hits it over... He doesn't really have power in his swing...
