2022 Minor League Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Yeah - that makes sense. I edited my post....

I'll try to calm down, been day drinking and caught quite the buzz.
What? Slam another and let loose!

To my eye, Miller has visibly improved too and made some nice plays lately at both 1B and 2B

He's not a bad fielder at all. He was actually known in the minors not to have the best range, but not make miscues like he has since being called up...

I concur.

My takes writing Miller off were premature. When we have the bodies up at the major league level, I'm willing to move on from the Big Ern and let Miller have all the utility duties.

I think the bat he showed in the minors can pay off--and if he doesn't, it's fine. We have plenty of other guys who can fill the utility role, or we can always grab a guy off the scrap heap.

Replace Reyes with Walker of the DBacks and then have Noel be Walkers replacement in 24?
Fuck that. An open spot in the lineup is a chance to churn. Just OF guys that we need to find ABs for over this season and next:
  1. Kwan
  2. Straw
  3. Jones
  4. OGon
  5. Valera
  6. Benson
  7. Call
  8. Brennan
Then you have the Arias, Freeman, Rocchio group of MIF. Naylor, Noel and Valera on everyone's heels... Lavastida...

Open spots are good things to me right now. I'm also just a dumb fan who only sees games--so the organization very well might not need to see some of these guys at the major league level to make a decision.

I just wouldn't actually mind a veteran hitter who can be that protection behind JRam that he needs. I don't think Walker is that (he's a gold glove 1B with power though) but I think if we can find that person, I think everyone in general would be better...

1 for 2 with 2 runs scored and another triple in a 5 inning shortened game.

Put the man in Cleveland and figure the rest out later. The excuses for Clement and Alex Call continuing to get roster spots in Cleveland over this kid are truly no more than that--excuses. He's up to .280 now. Come on people.

You've blasted him for 6 years and can't eat crow for 30 seconds to say what needs to be said about a former first round pick and potential 4-5 tool BEAST who could be a helluvan addition to this franchise. Just selfish, plain and simple.

Edited to add: leads the International League in On Base Percentage and OPS. 17 taters. 16 steals. Cannon for an arm. Wheels for days.

Imagine not pounding the table for this dude being in Cleveland. Imagine that. I really can't. I'm trying right now and I really can't even imagine it.

Who is this mythical poster who is arguing against Benson?

Keep tilting at windmills, Don

I think we're all enjoying Benson's recent success. He was a major project when he was drafted, he busted his ass to completely re-work his swing, and even though it hurt him in the short term, he stuck with it. It's now paying dividends and the kid's future is looking bright.

Dicky likes to claim that posters root against Cleveland players/prospects while half of his posts are railing about Straw.
