2022 Minor League Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Freeman lacks power... thats one thing that's not in his game nor I think ever will be...
Yeah, I get that. Was just posting because when you have 99% on line drives and decent EV ... kind of surprised that that one prospect rank that has Kwan #13 and Law’s near miss. Must be low walks ding him too much. Yet, Law implies Kwan is LF only due to arm, at least Freeman is decent 2nd and could play other positions (as I said super utility)

Tell your peeps to get this lockout done already so we ain't so bored on here! Haha

You must think Bimbo is really Chris and has the power to influence this all ....

Guess we can always dream that it is sunny and 70, ready to playball vs about ready to get 12 more inches of snow (better than 12 more inches of bs saying they really care about fans).

Hope the needle moves today ... but w deadline of March 1 to play by OD, its still a month away, thus dont expect much.

I'd say if @BimboColesHair says it then I am siding with him with how close they are... he has more actually knowledge about the prospects and organization than we do, so not all information is ever 100% right but siding with the one with more inside knowledge is always the best bet...
It's your choice to side with whomever you choose.. but, make no mistake.. both Naylor and Lavastida are NOT ready to become major league catchers.. not now.. saying otherwise.. is disingenuous.. a AA catcher who is on the interstate and another who has 120 AB's.. just isn't good enough for the ML's.. Their defense is ahead of their offense..but still, NOT ML READY..

..and if he had "..more actually knowledge.." he'd agree with it.. and admit he overstated their readiness..

I work with these kids.

So please, tell me more about them.

I'm sure the boomer in Amish Country knows more than you :chuckle:

Everyone is an expert on an internet forum.

Don't have a problem with that and people can 100% disagree with me, please do. But taking a shot at what I know and insinuating I don't know what I am talking about is where I'll draw the line.

Lavastida, Naylor, Ramirez, and Lopez all have the makings of being plus defensive catchers. Anything they add at the plate is just the cherry on top for the team. And then you have Paz who is all hit tool, poor defensively right now like Diaz was. It's a good array of high floor players, because they project to be plus players defensively already at the MLB level, and a couple high ceiling players if the bat (Naylor) or glove (Paz) put it all together.

They're just fine. Lavastida and Naylor could hang defensively in the MLB right now if need be.
Good stuff, thanks.

Lavastida seems to be the best bet at a balanced MLB toolset.
Any insight as to why Naylor was pushed so aggressively to AA and otoh a guy like Micael Ramirez gets tortoised through the system? He has hit everywhere, if he's good behind the plate, why not test him more, language barrier?
And what about Victor Planchart, no chance to stick at C? On paper, he seems close to Paz, even better track record at the plate.
