2022 Minor League Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
You're better than being pouting and being passive aggressive. I'll leave it at that and move on.

I ain’t pouting.

Team 99% of its own fan base thought would be last or 2nd to last in their division is in 1st place on August 14th. Nothing to pout about.

Poking fun, shit posting though? Absolutely.

Also.

Johnathan Rodriguez. Not a switch hitter. Was, now hits RH only.
I have heard on multiple occasions media outlets & fans marvel at how well the CLE rookies are doing while also being part of a pennant chase.
If only there was some way for young players to learn about that and experience items before getting to the majors...

Hmmmmm.

That's right, there is.

In the minor leagues they have playoff structures at every level. The full season affiliates (outside of AAA) have the season broken into two halfs. Lynchburg won its 1st half division title & has its ticket for the post-season punched already. Akron nearly won its 1st half title.
Currently Lake County is tied for 1st & the 2nd half title (& ticket to the post-season).

Columbus (despite constant roster changing) has the 2nd best record in ALL AAA baseball & still trails in its playoff chase.. With the reinforcements from Akron, I like the Clippers chances of overtaking Nashville.

Player development happens in many shapes & forms. A player not promoted to a higher level might be capitalizing on other aspects at the current level & aiding in the development of the rest of team at the same time.

I never ventured a prediction this year, though I was amused by major media frequently guessing sub .500.

Looking at the cheap trash outfield we started out with in '21, (Zimmer was an Upgrade) and considering the fact (it's an actual fact) that our total outfield WAR at season's end was almost exactly league-average, I can't escape the conclusion that this team achieves its goals through methods that I do not understand.

Bottom line: they're achieving these goals, and that's all that counts. It's not important that I know how they do it, though it is fun to speculate.

Call me a all time Homer, but whether it the Browns, Cavs, or Guardians……I always think anyone of those teams have a shot at First until they don’t, and being in the Central division, I would never fear the Twins or the White Soxs. ….

Morris with another good showing. Arias with another hit as he's hot. Brennan looks to be cooling off a bit, but still hitting well over .300. Valera starting to settle in it seems.

I'm finding Pries to be a bit interesting. Too bad he's a LHH. I thought he was RH. Damn!

Great game for ValerGOAT. Man get him adjusted to Columbus this year to where he's going to be champing at the bit next year to be up around bout June. OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO OUI

I have two lingering questionds:

What's the deal with Hankins? One quick appearance on August 1 that seemed to go fine and now MIA since.

Will any of the 2022 draftees debut in the organization this year? If so, then a third question: who/where?

Is anyone driving the Petey Halpin train, or can I get that train going?

The future power is coming.

Halpin needs to show more consistency, but I think a lot of people would get on that train with you...

He’s 20.

All aboard.

Both seasons he has been bad the first part of the year and killed it the second part. I wanna see more consistency that way... He has a high BABIP and his SO rate is on the higher side. He may run into trouble at AA. I always see how guys handle AA before i get on a bandwagon...

Petey Halpin (20)
Angel Martinez (20)
Milan Tolentino (20)
Gabriel Rodriguez (20)
Alexfri Planez (20)

That Lake County team is younger than average and producing. Exciting to see that level of youth/production coming to life down there this season.

Do you think Planez and Rodriguez will end up stayin in Cleveland's organization? I believe both can be taken in the Rule 5. I mean its hard to believe guys will be taken from A ball, but we have seen it before.
