2022 Minor League Week 04 Games Thread (4/26-5/1/22)

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Putting this out there for others to see...

FRhE3FUWUAE9-VO

Keep in mind that Saturday 4/30 is a double header (to make up for the Weds game) & RHP GAVIN WILLIAMS is projected to start game 1 while LHP Doug Nikhazy is projected to start game 2.

I am going to be there to watch & enjoy...

This is very cool.. This is also not an opportunity to bring some cheap ass/expired discount BS.

Be a good human..

Did anyone ever say why Chang was hurt outside of Covid reasons?

Last weekend, the announcers were saying that he would go on rehab (same as Castro) as he hasn't played recently and couldn't work out during the illness (unlike Miller who didn't have a fever).

That means he had symptoms?

I would assume or other symptoms — don’t know exact parameters as it sounded like Miller was asymptomatic

Chang just randomly hit the DL without any explanations way before anyone else did. So we never did get a true answer until the other players went out with it...

But was that actually published or was it because he was struggling...

The only publishing that I saw was on RR having him listed as COVID even before the other guys were added. And, the announcers had him locked out of training facilities due to symptoms.

Clippers up 5-1 in the 7th.. Ogonz is 2-3 with 3RBI 0k 0bb and a homer his 6th on the year

Espino left the game after 4-2/3 -- 3 hits 1 walk 5 Ks .... He was about ready to pitch to the next batter when the ump, catcher and manager came out all at once. Didn't see him cringe or hold anything though just went for rosin and went back to the rubber and must have said something as everyone came out at once to him.

He was at 73 pitches and had been at 64,70,66 ... so could be just hit his limit. However, the announcers were saying you don't want to see that and they are probably being abundantly cautious. A pitcher was already in the pen, warmed-up. And, the umpire came out with the catcher and manager (usually you give them a little room to discuss). And, they did talk for a little bit ... it wasn't give me the ball and get your applause type of visit. So who knows as CleGuardPro didn't mention any of this on his Espino wrap-up.

This Mitchell Tolman guy.... He's mildly interesting, especially as a lowly minor league sign.. He has shown the ability to work counts and take walks in past somewhat: aka A ball, but that went away.. Now it is "back" with a vengeance..

He has 19bb/12k in 19 AAA games. in 55ABs he's hitting:
.291.480.436.917

Last year he had 18bb/57k in 63 AAA games and overall he had 28bb/79k in 87 games..

Maybe he can end up being a Casey Blake. Probably not, but why not.

How would we fit him on the MLB roster? Would we just say, cut Chang and add him while he has barely played SS?
