In playoff action, Lynchburg loses Game 1 2-0 in a best of 3 series. From the box it looks like a very nice pitching duel, marred by 3 errors committed by the Hillcats.

Captains also suffer a Game 1 loss in their best of 3 series, final score 7-2.

Do or die time.

The CLE full season affiliates had a struggle to start the week going 1-3 overall (0-2 in the 2 playoff series) with -6 run diff.
Only Akron & Columbus play on Wednesday so lets see if they can boost the regular season record some more.

Other News
  • #Guardians 20-year-old INF prospect Gabriel Rodriguez underwent surgery today for a torn labrum in his right shoulder. Rodriguez had a nice season at (High-A) Lake County hitting .272 with a 112 wRC+ over 94 games.
  • Per Jon Heyman twitter: CAA has terminated its relationship with Guardians pitcher Zach Plesac. That’s a rarity for any agency. Plesac injured himself in successive seasons by aggressively taking off his shirt and punching the mound. In 2020 he was sent home for violating Covid protocols.

Battenfield with a fairly clean 1st minus the fly ball to RF that made Jones look clumsy. 2 nd inning isn’t going as well.

Brennan hit one 400’ but it stayed in the park for an out.

Arias smoked one to the 2B for the 3rd out.

Rocchio is a nice looking player for sure.

I don't think I have heard of this happening before.

I have heard of it happening but I cant recall with which player.

Normally there is some sort of disconnect communication/ expectation wise between the parties that leads to it happening.

Battenfield with a f'n terrible outing so far. Herrin warming up in the pen.

It's happened..

An agent/player relationship is founded on trust between the two parties.. CAA, who has a stable packed with great, good, average and below average players all have the same relationship with CAA.. It would appear that Plesac doesn't trust his representation.. and has forced the issue w/r to further negotiations on his behalf..

Good for Plesac... better for CAA.. imho..

Imagine if he was being called up tomorrow instead of Gaddis.
He probably would have pitched better. He didn't look anything like his normal self tonight.

Arias pulled after hurting his hand or wrist putting a tag on a runner. Hopefully nothing serious.

Herrin looking good again. I think he's a keeper.

That could be the 5th or 6th injury Arias has suffered this season that forced him out of the lineup.

This time of the year.. an abundance of caution is almost always used.. we'll see...

Yeah it's been a rough one for him. Unfortunate too because he's been hitting well as of late.

Correction. Arias was thrown out arguing a call at 1B. Sorry, that's my bad for assuming an injury was the cause. I saw the play, watched him shaking his left hand/wrist and then when I came back he wasn't in the game.
