2022 Season | Series #10 | Guardians @ White Sox | May 9-11, 2022

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
We talk about our poor record vs .500 and better teams, but ours is better than Chicagos.

Wonder why Rosario rather than Mercado in left? Maybe Tito feels Rosario needs to play to get his bat going.

My guess is he feels Rosario's bat is better production wise than Mercado and with Gimenez and Miller's hot bats, LF is the only spot Rosario can play at the current moment. Come late game, I am sure Kwan to LF and Mercado to RF...

If you are looking for result based stats, the team ranks:

2nd in Runs
1st in BA
1st in OBP
3rd in SLG
3rd in OPS
2nd in Doubles
1st in Triples
9th in HR
2nd in Sac Flies
3rd in K
7th in BB
9th in SB (70% success)
I'm definetly not a baseball guy, but why in hell does this not translate to a better record?

Pitching, defense, and one of the hardest schedules in baseball to this point.
I would have taken .500 after 30 games before the season started..

...add some marginal starting pitching, a less difficult schedule, warmer weather.. and the future looks bright.. bright, indeed...

This is the youngest team in baseball and they're 14-14 despite 16 of their first 28 games coming against teams ranked in the top eight.

This is shaping up to be one fun season. As I see it they are going to continue to get infield hits, move runners, take the extra base, steal bases, etc. This is so much more fun that watching a team that tries to hit a home run every at-bat and ends up striking out 14 times.

In his last start, Civale got the first out then gave up a single to Bichette and a home run to Vlad. He then retired 14 of the next 16 before running into trouble in the 6th when Tito left him in too long. But for 4.2 innings he looked really good. I hope that's a sign he's turning the corner. We'll know more Wednesday.

Tom not a big Thunderstruck fan I guess. :chuckle:

Kwan collects another career first, a stolen base.

Scores on a dropped fly by the RF.

Naylor playing RF for the Sox tonight?

It sounded like Manning said are you Sheeting me? Haha

Manning just said “are you shitting me”, right?

JRam was fooled on that slider.. he won't be if he sees Kopech again, tonight...

Gavin Sheets just forgot the part about watching the ball go into the mitt before closing it.. Owen Miller is the beneficiary of a gift and Kwan, who walked.. scores after stealing second.. This boneheaded play also makes Kopech, a short stint type pitcher.. throw more pitches..

Josh Naylor gets two fastballs on the plate in a row.. then can't swing at two that almost hit him.. and Kopech loses Naylor for another walk.. two this inning.. and time for a pitching coach to have a conversation..

The CWSox are fundamentally not a good team..
