2022 Season | Series #15 | Guardians @ Tigers | May 26-29

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Yeah I agree - don't need an actual replacement. Palacios strikes me as having the offensive profile to "replace" Rosario while being better at the plate approach wise. Better in general. Willing to go through the growing pains to find out.
Yep! You and me and numerous others I suspect.

Total BS criticism on Amed going for two.

Gonzalez did the exact same thing in the same situation in the ninth....one out, nobody on.

Two aggressive moves...both fit the situation....two close plays...one worked, one didn't. Such is baseball.

I am ready to move on from Rosario, but we still have to have player produce in the bigs. Rosario is a all out hustle type of guy, so he isnt really a problem either.

Besides, how do we know that the 1B coach didn't send him? Regardless, out of 10 times I'm sending him all 10 times because it takes a perfect throw and tag to barely get him. There are reasons to criticize Amed's game, but that play isn't on the list IMO.

You'd never know from listening to the buzz, but... wRC+ comparison:
2021 AA: Palacios 142, OGon 159
2021 AAA: Palacios 139, OGon 111
2022 AAA: Palacios 121, OGon 110

The better hitter, both overall and at AAA in particular, has been Palacios.

He also can run, and provides more defensive value.

Rosario out of line up Oscar still in RF Palacio DH Kwan LF

Straw, Kwan, Ramirez, Miller, Naylor, Gonzalez, Gimenez, Palacios, Hedges

Guess rather see Oscar after Gimenez and Palacios ... type of 2nd cleanup guy at 8th like in old days in 90s

For your last point, I believe Palacios has a higher ceiling in the field but he is supposed to be a butcher in the OF at this point.

This might the be lineup going forward except Franmil replaces either Palacios or Gonzalez. In fact, they probably platoon those two.

I'm wondering if Mercado is the next one to be DFA'd after Zimmer, Daniel Johnson, and Chang.

Straw CF
Kwan RF
Ramirez 3B
Miller 2B
Naylor 1B
Reyes DH
Gonzalez/Palacios LF
Gimenez/Rosario SS
Hedges/Maile C

I think Mercado is safe for now since we will need a defensive replacement. Now it's very possible we find a defensive replacement with options, but otherwise it's likely Mercado is the bench OF... That doesn't bother me any since it's not an everyday role

And the fact remains that he was actually safe, if he hadn't misjudged his slide. Clearly, it was the play to make.

4 pages since last night! Have we already lost, today?

Guess it’s just a matter of time.
