At least they play the same position though. At least pick someone who hits from the same side
How about Owen Pujols Miller?

If it wasn't for Kwan crashing back down to earth today, with a strikeout and failing to record a hit (his new nickname is American Idol), I would say this. As it is, the Gs might just have to settle for having the next Iron Horse in Owen Miller. Thank Ctulu that the FO chickened out on dealing for Matt Olson, otherwise Owen never would have gotten this chance to prove himself. Providence indeed.Owen Miller is probably the next Lou Gehrig from everything I’m seeing….
To have The Babe & The Iron Horse in one lineup is pretty dope…
It's Extended Spring Training for Matt too, dammit! The Indians will never die!!!
Obviously he won't keep this pace up, but he's a damn good hitter because he's always been a damn good hitter. I'd still like to see him add about 10-15lbs of good muscle weight, especially in his upper body. If he does that then we could be looking at a kid that can consistently give 25-30 HR over the course of a full season. I'm happy for him and I hope he continues to experience success. This is the guy that @CDAV45 said to expect.. looks pretty Nostradamic..
Naylor will fight Mercado for playing time which is likely to be platoon based to start. Gimenez is now our 2nd baseman (IMO) but he is on notice. He's playing well currently, but if Miller keeps this up and Andres starts stumbling - Miller could go to 2nd with Naylor getting more reps at 1stObviously he won't keep this pace up, but he's a damn good hitter because he's always been a damn good hitter. So what happens when Naylor returns? Who's gonna go? I'd guess Bradley gets DFA'd, but where is Naylor going to play? You gonna take AB away from Miller or Mercado? They going to put Miller at 2B and Gimenez at SS? If so, what are they going to do with Amed, Chang, and Bradley? It will be interesting to see how they handle it.
I started to type a lengthy response, but quickly realized that I have no idea what they will do. Personally, I don't think Naylor is any better than Mercado. In fact, if Mercado is going to hit like he did in 2019 then he is a better player than Naylor. If they want to keep Amed at SS then Gimenez will have to play 2B which forces them to keep Miller at 1B. You could drive yourself to the loony bin trying to guess how they will handle the roster.Naylor will fight Mercado for playing time which is likely to be platoon based to start. 1. Naylor
2. Miller
3. Gimenez
4. Mercado - closest to getting squeezed out of regular time, but..
These 4 are all mixed up with each other and that's omitting Clement who is the scrappiest player we've had in a loooooong time.
Just keep playing the hot hand and it will eventually work itself out
Why McKenzie only 67 pitches? Why not let him go 5 innings?
