Before it goes without getting the acknowledgment it deserves, Eli Morgan's performance today was pretty impressive. I hadn't notice how thick he's become until I saw him on the mound today. He could fill in for one of the starters nicely I believe.

Why McKenzie only 67 pitches? Why not let him go 5 innings?

The same reason Kershaw had 80 pitches, 7 IP, 13 Ks, and perfect baseball.

Owen Miller - OMG! In his last at-bat he chased a 99 mph fastball at the letters and fouled it off. That is one very, very quick bat to be able to spoil a 99 that far above the zone. Then he got the same pitch just a shade above the zone and took it out. Incredible.

He hit a changeup over the left field fence and a fastball out to right center. Exactly how it's supposed to be done. He has to lead the majors in extra base hits, right?

Even Hosey had an oppo HR. What's up with that?

What's with Kwan swinging and missing and making outs? Get rid of him.

Well, Fraley did a number on that fastball up and in. But that 7 pitch inning with two K's was pretty impressive.

Might be time to start moving Mercado up in the order if he's going to suddenly turn into Sammy Sosa.

Obviously he won't keep this pace up, but he's a damn good hitter because he's always been a damn good hitter. I'd still like to see him add about 10-15lbs of good muscle weight, especially in his upper body. If he does that then we could be looking at a kid that can consistently give 25-30 HR over the course of a full season. I'm happy for him and I hope he continues to experience success.

So what happens when Naylor returns? Who's gonna go? I'd guess Bradley gets DFA'd, but where is Naylor going to play? You gonna take AB away from Miller or Mercado? They going to put Miller at 2B and Gimenez at SS? If so, what are they going to do with Amed, Chang, and Bradley? It will be interesting to see how they handle it.

He has been pitching out of the bullpen so far - and I think it's because spring training has been half the length it usually is, so they're easing guys back into things.

Poor guy deserved a win.

If Reyes is hitting.. he plays.. If not.. then he splits AB's with someone who IS hitting.. If that's Naylor.. good.. DH is a bat only spot.. Reyes will have his hot streak.. it's coming..

He may get a day off now and then...but he is the DH.

Mercado has hit some bombs, but everybody overlooks his .200 BA and his track record vs same handed pitchers. Hopefully, nobody sees him as a regular who is gonna knock 35 over the fence.
