Being built around pitching and defense with elite base running is a plus, but contact hitting with no punch will get you nothing but 2 runs a game except on occasion. In fact, it will get you more games where you don't manage to score more than 2 runs(26 times) than games scoring 6 or more(14 times). Doesn't matter though because help is coming and not only can they hit, play defense and run, but the ball comes off their bats quite nicely. That will be what actually makes the difference.

Some struggle initially. Some take off initially. Some never make it. The good thing is that there are "some" in this organization and they aren't reliant on a single prospect. That's the beauty of it IMO.

It could easily be stated that for every Jared Kelenic there is an Oscar Gonzalez.

And we don't know what Jared Kelenic is either which was the point I was trying to make. Unpredictability is one of the only sure things in baseball.

I didn't know if they got him into the x-ray/MRI yet to see if there was any damage or if they are thinking more towards muscle cramps/back spasms type of thing that is a day to day type.

I’m guessing a lot of guys are tired right now, which is contributing to the team slump. Lots of games and lots of young guys that maybe aren’t used to the MLB grind yet. All Star break will hopefully be very useful to the team.

Hope Bieber has his A game today because Naylor and Gimenez out isn’t ideal.
