2022 Season Series #28 | White Sox @ Guardians | July 11-13, 2022

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I’d send Miller down honestly. He needs a reprieve to gather himself. That’s what options are for right? IMO Miller should never play 1B with as much frequency as he has this season.

Giving Naylor time off his feet is a challenge with Reyes on the roster. I guess there’s an argument that one isn’t any better than the other defensively, but this is about Josh’s health.

We’re probably going to see some more prospects after the deadline and that’s good IMO because that’s what this season was for from the beginning. If they propel us to a division title and a playoff experience all the better.
If they send Miller down then Naylor is the only player on the roster who ever played first base, unless they want to bring Yu Chang back). And Naylor needs days off.

I suppose they could hand Clement a first baseman's mitt and let him take a stab at it.

I'd convert Jones to 1B for next year. You couldn't throw the ball over or around him and he's had years of practice fielding ground balls.

He should've been taking reps at first through the minors

Tito is so preoccupied with giving guys rest and keeping everyone happy that we never ever see our best possible lineup in a game. Why do they baby Gimenez so much? He's a fucking All Star, play him

It's tough to say what his rate stats would be like if he wasn't babied though especially if he has been working through health stuff. Given the treatment he's been given this year and how well he's done that could be an argument in favor of him thriving in this role. Look at Jose's struggles working through his finger injury. I just imagine they might be privy to some kinda info that we don't have. Generally Gimenez has NOT been sitting versus any RHP.

so they played jose despite an injury - but wont play andres because of a secret injury? - imo, jose was good to go and just slumped

Is this thing starting on time? Seems we are on the right side of the rain but it was downpour little bit ago.

Just be happy that we don't have Jimenez in LF. He is what happens when you stick a "power bat in a corner" despite not knowing how to play defense in said corner.

What did Civale do, hurt, sticky stuff?
Wasn’t sticky stuff. After the inning, he went into the dugout and was high fiving folks and then got a baseball in his glove for the next inning.

So does anyone know why Civale came out?
Not yet. Maybe cramping issues? The only other possible scenario would be a trade and I can’t imagine another team trading for him…
