Wonderful show. Fantastic reboot from top to bottom. Maybe a bit too much Jimmy Fallon, but other than that, perfectly acceptable.Oh, how was it?

Gonna go out on a limb here: Never before.I wonder how many times in MLB history a team has scored 6 runs in an inning after their first three batters struck out.
I'm all for calling up Brennan and let him play EVERY day replacing Straw. 3 rookies in the outfield and 3 300 hitters. Don't give a shit how good Straws defense is. In addition, Morris up and Eli down. That's a no brainer in my mind. And I would play Freeman at first base against lefties or when Naylor can't go. Freeman is a much better hitter, a much better fielder and has a lot more baseball savvy than Owen Miller. You know who doesn't need to play everyday?

Andres will strike out twice in an inning before a team scores 6 runs in an inning where their first 3 batters strike outCraziest inning I can remember in a long time. A wild pitch on strike three, an infield single, and two bloops. The baseball gods are paying us back for last night.
Eric Haase can hit a little but he's a horrible defensive catcher. He let one run in on a passed ball and then let the inning-ending third strike get away, which opened the door.
The Tigers' starters dominated (6 runs in 4 games) but we got to their bullpen twice.
I loved the 11-pitch at-bat by Hosey to start the third inning. He finally got walked and Oscar doubled him home.
Oscar can flat out hit. It's scary to think how good he could be with just a little better pitch recognition. Hell, he's chasing bad pitches almost every at-bat and hitting .306. He also has 19 doubles in 157 at-bats which puts him on pace for 76 doubles in a full season of 630 at-bats.
Straw came up with the bases loaded and one out in the second. He got two fastballs middle of the zone at 90 and 91 mph and fouled them back. He was late on both swings. Then he grounded into a force at home chasing a low breaking ball. The fact that he couldn't at least get a sac fly on two swings at below average fastballs right down the middle makes me think he'll never hit enough to justify his defense. But that remains to be seen.
Andres Gimenez struck out twice in the 8th inning. He's only 23 but I'll be that never happens to him again.
The first three batters struck out and then six runs scored. That might be a first.
I'm glad to see the last of Detroit. We squeaked out a 9-8 win in the season series but for some reason these guys gave us problems. They are the lowest scoring team in baseball and even worse on the road. Their pitching staff is decimated - they've started 16 different pitchers this year. Miggy missed most of the series with a chronic knee problem. Yet they damn near won the season series. Good riddance, Detroit, see you next year.
If Brennan is playing everyday, how are Jones, Benson, and Freeman gettin enough at bats between the three of them to make it worthwhile to be up here?I'm all for calling up Brennan and let him play EVERY day replacing Straw. 3 rookies in the outfield and 3 300 hitters. I support replacing Jones with Brennan. But more importantly, Morris should have been up yesterday. The guy should be doing a 9 batter opener role for plesac. He might be the most underrated pitching prospect in baseball.I'm all for calling up Brennan and let him play EVERY day replacing Straw. 3 rookies in the outfield and 3 300 hitters. Wow that high on Morris?I support replacing Jones with Brennan. But more importantly, Morris should have been up yesterday. The guy should be doing a 9 batter opener role for plesac. He might be the most underrated pitching prospect in baseball.
Brennan up and Jones or Brennan down. Neither Benson or Jones have seized the moment. Some of that might be that they haven't had enough at bats. Brennan deserves the same opportunity given Kwan, Gonzo, Benson and Jones. Tyler Freeman needs the opportunity to play over Miller. If given the opportunity, he will hit and be much better defensively than Miller. Some will say he's too short to play first. He's the same height as Naylor. Obviously Freeman at first will be a 2022 thing only.If Brennan is playing everyday, how are Jones, Benson, and Freeman gettin enough at bats between the three of them to make it worthwhile to be up here?
If the answer is benching Myles Straw, why not just work in both Benson and Kwan in CF and get Benson/Jones consistent at bats?
According to Cleveland.com:I wonder how many times in MLB history a team has scored 6 runs in an inning after their first three batters struck out.
Surprise! It’s been 60 years, but not never!Gonna go out on a limb here: Never before.
