2022 Season | Series #43 | Guardians @ Royals | Sep. 5-7, 2022

Well, Clase isn't perfect. For some reason he couldn't find the zone until it was too late. And even then he was only throwing the fastball and they were sitting on it.

Karinchak and Stephan were in and out of the zone, too, although not as bad. I'm wondering if the injuries to Civale and Plesac which lead to short starts by the minor league call-ups and more innings by our bullpen are taking their toll. Seven walks by our bullpen, although one was intentional. And that's against a team with hardly any hitters.

Shaw was awesome, though. And how about Oscar with two more doubles?

Greinke toyed with the Guardians as usual. The one run he allowed only scored because the centerfielder broke back on Miller's bloop, otherwise Greinki shuts us out for six innings. In 16.2 innings against the G's this year he's allowed two earned runs, and his defense was responsible for one of them. I wish he would retire but he'll be shutting us out again next year at 39.

Twins did indeed lose again, so the magic number is 26.

Win at least 1 in Minnesota, then home for 9 games.

Wait - we just lost 5 in a row at home.

Gonna tee it up 8 times against the Twins over the next 11 days. Split those 8 and this team is in a really good place. Ace in the hole is playing these Royals 6 times at home closing the season.

Best thing about tonight was what Morris did in only his second start. Innings 2-4 showed how he dominated triple A. I just hope moving forward he can stay healthy, which he has not been able to do.
