2023-24 Season | Game #13 | Cavs @ Sixers | Nov. 21, 2023 | 7:30 p.m. | TNT

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
That sequence where wade badly missed two straight wide open 3s was rough. I think he got a foul on the other end of that play too iirc.

He played really good D on Maxey but man, he's got to shoot the 3 ball at a decent clip so he can stay on the floor.
I’m one of his supporters, but 0-4 on open 3’s just won’t cut it. Make just 1 and we don’t have OT and everyone goes home a little bit fresher for Miami. He’s a good shooter, just needs to keep pulling the trigger. Strus and Niang shot their way out of horrible starts. Dean needs to do the same.

One more point. Loved seeing us hit Fts tn and last few games. We've lost a few games thanks ti sloppy fts this year and last. TT's airball aside

Cavs hit the NBA stat boards!

Allen and Mobley together outplayed Embiid.

Note that Garland and Porter are both 23. There's a bright future ahead at PG for Cleveland.

Wade did solid on D but its important to remember he is basically playing two rotation spots up. He's a 10th man filling in as a starter
It’s a good point. The fact that the roster has Wade starting to preserve other roles is an indictment on the team construction more than the player. Like it’s not his fault he is a bad offensive player. Anyway, the game:

Wade had a bunch of rebounds.
CPJ had his best game. Pick your moment w this guy: was it the tipped rebounds to other players who got the defensive rebound? The pass to Strus for 3? The quick pass to Allen for the baby hook? Oh wait, it was definitely the 2 point finish over the reigning MVP! I was just so proud of him as he got reinserted when the game was slipping away, and the rook is bringing the ball up in q4 in a playoff atmosphere. Just that was a wow moment for me.
Strus was the refs’ punching bag. He hung in there despite the circumstances. Unreal how he had a spotlight on him.
Garland stayed engaged. When he does he is such a savage.
Mobley and Allen have ESP the way they play defense. But my favorite play was still CPJ pointing out who to guard in a quasi fast break by Philly. I think it was Mobley who he was directing. Could be wrong.

Just an incredible, gutsy win.

In a game we won by 3, he was minus 12 in 30 minutes.

You just can't get that little offense from your starting 3.
That’s was also my point. Wade position needs to be improved with a player of about same stature.
Our two bigs are pretty mobile, but the trade off is strength. That is why a 3rd physical player helps improve both our defense and our offense, as both Mobley and Allen have played better next to Wade

How was Maxey with Wade on him? Not how much did Maxey score against the Cavs, but with Wade on him? How was Grant? How was Cade? How was MPJ?

How have the Cavs rebounded with Wade starting? What's our record with him starting?

I'm not saying Wade is the reason we've won the last four, but we clearly make it far more difficult for the opposing team to run the high PNR against us. We clearly rebound better as a team with him in the game. The hate he gets here isn't deserved.

Its the game thread.

Unfortunately for him he missed two wide open 3s when we badly needed points. When he's an offensive zero it can negate what he does on defense when he has a good night in that area.

We can't go 4 on 5 on offense, especially in the biggest moments of the game.

We just did, and we can do it again, especially because Wade can rebound and Okoro can't. What people aren't appreciating is that: A) Wade can get hot and then it will be game over for the other team; B) Wade disrupts what the other team wants to do (the high PNR); and C) he's currently being officiated like he stole something.

So in your mind it's worth losing Mitchell for nothing just for this season? Not being a smart ass? Real question
Cavs can offer him the most. He will be tradeable even when he resigns. He is that good.

The one way he helps on offense even when he doesn’t score is that he has the reputation as a shooter so the opponent d has to at least stay engaged with him. They don’t have to work very hard, but they aren’t free to sag and help freely like they did on Okoro last year (hopefully not this year if he ever returns). He helps with spacing which gives everyone else a little more room to work
