2023-24 Season | Game #61 | Celtics @ Cavs | March 5, 2024 | 7:30 p.m. | TNT

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
He gets credit because Mobley twisted his ankle forcing him to play Wade who would otherwise be riding the pine and watching the L?
Couple things here , Mobley is the better player most coaches would have did the same thing, Wade was throwing up bricks all game before going off the last 10 minutes or so,…..Let’s see which Wade shows up tonight, Hopefully he don’t wait until the 4 quarter to be engaged.

Plus JBBs earlier challenge got us a point - the point of victory. A challenge that was widely criticized.

The man is a basketball savant and we’re lucky to have him. Who else beats the Celtics down three starters?
Where's the "rolls eyes" emoji when you need it?

Basketball continues to be a game of matchups; if I recall correctly, we played well every game against Boston last year, too. Unfortunately, the Knicks are not a good matchup for us due to their physicality and Coach Thibs knowing how to exploit that. Unfortunately, our commander can’t seem to make the necessary adjustments to compete with them regardless of their personnel. (Could be our personnel just isn’t cut out for that type of play)
So true. I was so down hard on this team after the Knicks loss. To go from the high of the Dallas win, to the low of the Knicks loss, back to the high of the Celtics win... I liked roller coasters when I was younger but now, not so much. Physical teams are Cavs kryptonite.

Going forward there's no doubt in any minds with an oz of sanity that you let DM bring the ball up. We supposedly have a all star PG and should be the floor general and that totally disheartening
It doesn't matter who brings the ball up across half court. What the message needs to be is anyone and everyone who brings the ball across half court is to immediately pass the ball and initiate ball movement as early in the play clock as possible. The goal should be for at least 3 and preferably 5 players to touch the ball on every possession. That is how we had success, that is how you get everyone in the rhythm and flow of the game, that is how you get shooters to heat up. This bullshit of stopping and dribbling one foot inside the half court line needs to stop, for every possession. Even in crunch time.

In the last two minutes Garland missed a free throw, fouled Porzingis on a layup with the Cavs down by 2, resulting in a 3-point play, and was responsible for two turnovers trying to force the ball to Allen who had Porzingis on him.

Darius did a lot of good things tonight but he fell apart in the final two minutes, making ill-advised passes, committing a dumb foul that could have lost the game, and missing a huge free throw.
Giving Porter more than 6 minutes earlier might help DG down the stretch.

Here's the thing about the Cavaliers. We have a very large collection of players who, on any given night, can get hot and dominate or can be completely ineffective. Unfortunately, we don't have enough players who we can count on for consistent numbers night after night and we probably only have one player who can simply decide to take over a game because that's what we need.

That's a better situation that a lot of other teams...

That's why we're 3rd in the conference, but it's still difficult to predict with any confidence how we are going to do in the playoffs.

So it's one of the reasons I give DG a pass in crutch time is that it's obvious he is being told to play differently. Last night is a perfect example. there is no way in hell the final 2 minutes of offensive possessions play out that way other than by a team being told run the clock. It happened the moment the Cavs took the lead

Listening to Justin Termine giving the Cavaliers props BUT he said if the whistle hadn’t blown KP had the rebound and Outback for the win.

Replay shows the shot didn’t even hit the rim when the clock stopped at 0.7. The ball hit the rim, bounced above the top of the backboard, came down and hit the rim again before falling to KP.

That took WAY more than 0.7 seconds.

But I’m all for spreading bullshit that the refs screwed Baaaaaaaaaaaaston. Anything that pisses those massholes off works for me.

The Celtics collapse has reignited the narrative that the Celtics fail when it really matters. They can’t get out of the East even when facing a play in team in the ECF.

Glorious.

How about a few possessions before that when KP spend like 8 seconds in the key trying to create a foul on George N , even the announcer said that should have been 3 seconds call. That play the Celtics we’re down 4, under a minute

Just watched the TNT replay and Garland was just plain awful during those last 2 minutes; and you neglected to mention what was almost a 3rd turnover when he barely got the ball across the timeline and made his first pass with 4.5 seconds left on the shot clock (which almost went out of bounds and luckily got bailed out on the foul call) AND his awful shot which missed the rim and fortunately Deano cleaned it up for what turned out to be the game winner …AND his out of control drive and a between the legs pass to JA with 3 seconds left on the shot clock which miraculously JA was able to corral and get Deano for another 3. Simply poor play after play after play late. We were so fortunate to overcome those and win thanks to an epic performance by Dean.

But, we won and it’s certainly better than Sunday’s result
Yeah his end of game awareness is truly awful. I would rather have Caris who is an low basketball IQ idiot bring the ball up if it's a tight game against the Hawk.
