2023-24 Season | Game #66 | Cavs @ Pelicans | March 13, 2024 | 8:00 p.m.

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I said that.
I thought tagging you implicitly would take away from my shitposting intentions and move it unnecessarily into the realm of serious discussion…or something like that.

Gonna take an offseason trade or two for their to be real legit minutes for CPJ under JBB or under any coach

It’s crowded back there with Mitchell, Garland. LeVert, Strus, Okoro, Merril, and CPJ.

And if/when Wade/Niang ever play any SF minutes, it shrinks even more

I still maintain my stance on the Cavs weaknesses but man did we knock .the gumbo out of them. No negativity tonight just enjoy the win
Serious question, not baiting…how many teams in this years NBA do you believe don’t have at least a few weaknesses, if not several?

I like Cavs critique…when it comes housed in some context that includes the other 29 teams and how most of their rosters, rotations, fits, etc aren’t perfect or built to reach the finals this year either

Mitchell’s impact was huge tonight and a big reason why +\- can be so misleading.

He was the only non garbage time Cav with a - (at -6) but obviously his presence was huge

We seem to be unique in that we don't play as well with a healthy roster, as opposed to NYK who was playing extremely well before the injuries to two of their top players.

Tristosterone back Saturday and hopefully Wade soon as well. Maybe Strus and Mobely back in a week, wishful thinking...

How many games has this team been healthy for a stretch this season though...

I feel like Don needs to go LeBron on DG like LeBron did on Kyrie with assists. Tell DG he can never ever have another game where he shoots less than ten 3s.
If his teammates shoot like they did tonight (they won't), he'll average double digit assists the rest of the season.

That was about as impressive as it gets. No Mobley, Wade, or Strus and on the road against a healthy team with two days off that has won 13 of 17 and the Cavs win by 21. This was one of the five most impressive games of the year, IMO.

The team defense was outstanding, holding the Pels to 95 points on 44% and 18%. Actually, the Pels missed a ton of uncontested 3's. You can't win in the NBA if you only make four 3's, and a couple of those were in garbage time. The Pelicans' five starters combined to make one 3-pointer. One.

Zion needed to make 11 more layups for them to win this one.

Garland's game has been coming on strong and he took it to another level tonight; 27 points on just 16 shots with 11 assists and only one turnover. Awesome.

Merrill was a team high +30 in 28 minutes and he finally got some 3's to go down. The Pelicans defend the 3-point shot better than anyone at 34%, but the Cavs hit 44.4% tonight on a high volume. Considering the opponent and the fact that the game was on the road and this was probably their best 3-point shooting game of the year.

The ball movement on offense was sensational as the Cavs had 38 assists on 47 buckets. Passing, defense, shooting - it was all there tonight and the hottest team in the NBA, playing at home, had no answer for a team missing two starters, their backup power forward, and with Mitchell a little rusty, shooting just 5-for-16.

Love the way Damian Jones runs the floor in transition, getting easy buckets. He was 7-for-8 and a +15 in 23 minutes. Who needs Tristan? It was wierd to see him and Allen on the floor together but it worked.
