2023-24 Season | Playoff series #1 | Cavaliers vs. Magic |

That doesn't add up to 100%. I don't agree, either.
Yes, I saw that. That's rounding error. The numbers went out to eight digits after the decimal point. I didn't see the point of that. I'll live with your derision, since I'm just guessing.

No derision, I'm just being a little anal today.

“The two games we lost (to Orlando this season), we fouled a lot,” Thompson said Thursday. “... Swipe downs, unnecessary fouls. It was a lot of fouls that we were like self-inflicting wounds. I think in the two games that we did win, we weren’t doing that. So if we can keep our hands back ... that’s what we’re looking at.”

Like I said on the last page, keep the hands away and no reach-ins, especially for Allen and Mobley. If the guards and forwards want to ambush a Magic player and Shump him while he's focused on Allen or Mobley, fine.

We don't need to strip the ball - these guys are not great shooters. Make them shoot over you without fouling and then box out and hit the glass.

I expect the Cavs to push the pace in transition at every opportunity. Bickerstaff specifically said Orlando is tough to attack in their half-court defense.

Just setting the tone from the jump,” Darius Garland said of the toughness the Cavs want to display against the Magic. “Hit somebody first. Don’t be the last one to get hit. So that’s what you have to do from the jump. As soon as the ball tips off, we got to hit somebody first, we got to foul somebody hard just to set the tone.

OK, we'll see if the Cavs commit a hard foul on Orlando's first possession. Garland is the third Cavs' player to be quoted as saying the Cavs need to throw the first punch.

Actually, I can't remember ever seeing Garland foul somebody hard. He gets fouled hard a lot, but I don't think he dishes it out.

I think it's a lot of hot air and this will come down to whether the Cavs can generate open 3-point attempts and make them.

Is there going to be a game thread? For baseball we have series threads but we’ve always had individual game threads for the Cavaliers. Seems like putting up to seven games in one thread would be a lot.

Seven games? I've got Olando in five.

Just kidding. It's probably a good idea to have a thread for each game for people to comment as the game is being played and also have a series thread for the big picture discussion.

I see the #1 key to the game is to get Jarrett smiling. Get him some buckets, get him fired up, have him physically involved early. He’s the type of big man that needs a LOT of love & support but if you give him that he’ll respond.

If he’s punishing them inside and rebounding it opens up so much.
