2023 Minor League Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Yeah, playing Arias everyday with his 171 batting average would solve all the team's problems. And the argument of not getting everyday at bats is a sorry ass excuse. really. Facilities have pitching machines to stay sharp.Arias has been given a chance, and so far he has failed miserably. Over his 5 year minor league career, he's hit 269, hardly something to write home about. 49 homers in 5 years isn't all that great either.
If we gave up on prospects after struggling in the majors for a short period of time, or judged them when they aren't playing everyday, we wouldn't have Andres Gimenez on our team.... or Jose for that matter.

This guy has to be better than Gallagher

Sadly, the guy he should be replacing is Zunino due to both of them being less than desirable defensively. Gallagher is good behind the dish and handles the staff well. I wish he hit a little more, but that's not really the main focus of his duties.

No, I'm not advocating that Collins replaces Zunino. The main point in what I said is that both are not good defensively and that would likely become a problem.

I expect they are giving Zunnino a long leash because he's a veteran and they want Bo to get regular ABs. If Z doesn't get going by the end of this month I would think it will be Bo time.

I suspect the timing is closer to the end of June..
Considering Bo got some time in the majors last year, anything before that likely results in a Super 2 designation for Bo.

If Bo ends up close to what the team FO/ fans suspect, everyone would scream bloody murder if the club either lost a year a year of control or a year of cost control by a few days/ weeks.

Great point. I agree.

How many runners has Gallagher thrown out trying to steal on him?

Imo Zack makes more sense as the 3rd C/DH/1B, especially with the hitting woes this team has right now. Altho I'm not holding my breath on him hitting like that in the bigs.

He's a left handed hitter though, so Fry makes more sense because of the fact we struggle against left handed pitching...

But Zack is smashing the ball right now, in a way that the team should really see if there is something there. Collins had always been a bat first prospect. And right now, this team isn't hitting any pitchers regardless of handedness.

I wouldn't have any qualms if they added him, I just don't expect it since they added Fry over him...

GuardiansRHP
Notes:
Tools: Fastball: 70 | Curveball: 60 | Slider: 55 | Changeup: 50 | Control: 50
Skinny: Recently promoted to Triple-A, Williams is a true power pitcher with a mid-to-upper-90s fastball, an above-average slider and a curveball. Williams looks like the next Guardians pitching prospect to ascend to the big league rotation with true No. 2 starter upside.

#2 starter upside? Sheesh!
