2023 Minor League Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Anybody know anything about Korey Holland? Red hot in 4 games.

The fact that he didn't make an opening day squad is all you need to know. I thought he was already cut.

He was one of several high bonus HS bats (500K to 1M range) that didn't even turn into good trade pieces. Lots of millions invested in HS bats and little to show for (Freeman, I guess). They've burned up more money on that demographic than college pitching

Do you know if he's changed anything for this season?

I see George Valera is back and playing center field today.

Is he a center fielder?

I'd say no in the big leagues... but it's not like he's horrible out there. He's able to make all the routine plays and whatnot, but he doesn't have the natural speed to be a true CF in the bigs... He's mostly played RF, which at the moment is Noel's position at AAA...

Fixed it for you...
Noel has been at 1B a lot recently (since Oscar was sent to AAA)

Noel at 3B is a great reason to leave Cantillo & other pitchers at AA. The pitchers need decent defenders around all the INF spots...

You are wrong there... I don't trust him at 3B personally...

So in Cbus, Rocchio has had 135 AB's. and his OPS is .863.

But it's important for him to get more experience in AAA. ;)

Plesac with a so-so outing vs Cinci AAA group.
Only allowed 1 run but had 90 pitches (58 strikes) in 4 IP.

5 run 3rd inning for Clippers highlighted by Zach Collins grand slam.
Clippers lead 5-1 entering the bottom of the 5th

Could controlling running really be any worse than what Zunino and Gallagher allow?

Naylor might be able to accomplish that... 32 SB out of 35 attempts in 25 games.

Compare to Gallagher - 12 SB out of 13 attempts in 12 games. Zunino 23 SB out of 28 attempts in 25 games.

Zunino's pop time has actually been slightly worse than Gallagher so I will just lump Gallaghino's numbers together and say 35 out of 41.

Does zunothingo’s “pop time” include hitting guys in the genitals to get them out?
And could even David Fry be a worse choice than our current Duo of Despair?

And…
is ANYONE on this team having a better year than we anticipated a few months ago?
Bibee and Allen and…
