2023 Minor League Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information

Williams isn't as polished as Allen or Bibee but does have more upside than either of them. If we trade a starting pitcher at the big league level, he will likely be up then... I just don't know if you want to try and make the playoffs with three rookie SPs...

Don’t matter if they don’t make playoffs . Getting this big three experience is more important than a token playoff appearance. Some times a step back isn’t a bad thing to move forward.

I actually think the best thing for this team is to make the playoffs, so they gotta find that balance and personally, the SP without Bieber should be strong enough to get in on paper once TMac is back to being healthy.

The question mark is can they find JRam the help through a Bieber trade?

This team is very unlikely to make the playoffs

I don't think so... They are very good pitching and they won't trade Bieber unless they get a bat they need, so on paper the offense should pick up then...
All the analytics say the team kind of sucks and they have an under 10% chance to make the playoffs. You know who also has great pitching? The Twins. You know who has a better lineup than you? The Twins.

The Twins aren't as good as you think... The two teams have fairly similar stats and Cleveland has way more trade assets than the Twins do plus a stronger farm. Twins cannot overcome injuries while Cleveland doesn't have a lot of drop off during injuries...

Ps. I don't give a crap about national guys since they never side with teams that are contact over power at all...

I really don't see the FO trading away prospects to go all out this year. The numbers actually say the Twins have been a biy unlucky and should have a better record than they do. They're missing multiple key guys right now and are doing fine.

I'm not talking about pundits, just numbers

Look at Cleveland's BABIP they have been unlucky as well with that and the Twins' roster has actually never been healthy the last few seasons. Heck they aren't even allowing Buxton to play in the OF...

My point is this, Cleveland is a deeper ball club than Minnesota since they have a lot better talent in their farm system.

Also, why does Cleveland have to only be trading away talent... On paper you buy and sell right now, at least that's what I would do...

You trade Bieber and prospects to get needs... You need quality right now and you can break even by trading Bieber for 3/4 guys and trading 3/4 guys to get the talent you need on the other side of the ball.

We are close enough to Minnesota, that we can easily overtake them in the second half with the right, player or two added. I mean heck, a HR here or another hit there and we have a winning record.

Ehhhhh BS. He's a different type pitcher than either of them. Not concerned with a playoff appearance with this offense, but if you're going to make one you should probably go into it with your best SP's. Williams is one of them.

They don't hit the ball very hard so their BABIP is going to be low.

They need to rid themselves of expiring contracts and add as much talent to the roster as possible that aligns with what is currently in place. They need a couple of big RHH. Another near ready/ready SP prospect or two wouldn't hurt either. Another C prospect would be good as all of our eggs are in Bo's basket.

They are not in it to win it this season unless it's done with the players/prospects that will be here over the next few years. They're not going to abandon the plan for a false hope of a postseason miracle.

That's because contact over power teams don't win in the postseason. How did we win tonight?
