2023 Offseason Potential Targets (FA and Trades)

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Well that one issue is enough to disqualify him. Hes not a good enough shooter, defender and needs ball too much for what we need
Because he made a mistake he should be disqualified? Jesus…. Even people convicted of manslaughter get second chances! And those stats could easily improve playing with better talent (Mitchell, Garland and Mobley)

This is not the space for it but I do not think he should be allowed to play in the NBA. As is, he isn't a great fit, expensive, and coming off a year away from basketball. It is not a good move imo

Understood! But he can’t be any worst of a fit than Cedi, Okoro or Wade! And a year off means fresh legs! Sure there will be rust but that’s what training camp is for

Cleveland receives: Jalen Green, Tari Eason & 4th pick
Houston receives: Donovan Mitchell

Why?
Cleveland retools their roster & adds a high pick in a deep draft.
Houston goes for the star to potentially pair with Harden.

I don’t think I could make a trade with a Houston that didn’t include Jabari or Sengun. Either would be great fits with Mobley for different reasons.

Zach Lowe tossed around some trade ideas on his podcast. One of them was a deal with JA for Porzingis.

All cap issues aside, that pairing is intriguing. Mobley would have all the spacing he could ask for and 3 out of the starting 5 could murder teams from 3 on volume at any moment.

Porzingis is going to make over 36 million this year and he's overrated as a defensive presence. The offensive side would be beautiful basketball but I worry about who leaves with Allen in order to make up the other 16 million.

I understand the desire to have more spacing around Mitchell and Garland and Allen is an obvious target, but part of what allows DG & Mitchell to work defensively is having Allen and Mobley behind them..

You can remedy the spacing issue by having a legit shooter in the starting lineup at SF and having a consistent 4 off the bench to pair with Allen or Mobley on the second unit..

You almost have to get Deni and/or Kispert in the process and send LeVert to a third team via S&T. If you could get both those guys and maybe get a late 1st/early 2nd from the third team that’d be intriguing, but that’s making things fairly complicated.

My dude: I appreciate your off-season trade scenarios. As someone who reads and remembers your posts, you have a habit of tacking on and tacking on. This trade is a perfect example. How many Wizards role players would the Cavs really want? I like the idea of moving Okoro for Kispert and Avdija... But when you start talking about flipping four critical Cavs for four Wizards, it's time to stop and ask why they are losers and why we are winners. But, keep the trades coming.

You asked how to make the money work. Allen & LeVert would be the only way without sending out 3 or more players. That's not four critical Cavs. That's two guys. I'm not trading Allen and LeVert for Porzingis because that's a crappy trade. Allen, Okoro, Osman is too much. All I was really saying was that Porzingis’ salary basically makes it impossible because you get into weird scenarios trying to make it equal.

I think the only way it could actually work would be Porzingis opting out and the Wizards S&T him to the Cavs on a longer deal at a lower dollar amount. Then it becomes a manageable number salary wise.

**edit: That option might be out the window as it looks like reports are saying Porzingis is going to opt in, though I didn’t see anything that looked official

Sounds like Dallas doesnt want to bring Wood back. How do people feel about him? Skillset wise, I think he is a perfect 3rd big for us, but I dunno if he is a winning player.

I think he is more of a John Collins type. He has range, and is a hustler. Rebounding is Andy level.. but I am not sure about perfect fit..

I am imagining him, Allen and or Mobley against the Knicks and wondering if we are any less soft playing Mitchell and Randle.. I had nor considered Kristrap before somebody mentioned it, but I think he is a better fix for what ails us..

My only concerns with KP are health and age. He is a better fit overall tho I agree. Id want to pull deni or kispert if we trade for him
