2023 Season | Series #17 | Cardinals @ Guardians | May 26-28, 2023

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
My hot take, this team is way to young... Everything is on JRam on the offensive side and they don't have a solid captain like Hedges to back him up. I am not saying we have to get Hedges, but they gotta get JRam some help in the lineup and in the clubhouse...

It's got nothing to do with their age and everything to do with how this roster is constructed. Any help they get for JRam will be young also. I just hope they could break a wet paper bag with their swing unlike several of the current lineup.

too young? bell? rosario, straw? zunino, ramirez? shoot, even naylor turns 26 next month - youth aint the problem imo

Ten innings, one run, and it came on a walk, a wild pitch, and a bloop single. Couldn't get a run in from 3rd with nobody out. Worst hitting team in franchise history. Time to take this season out back and shoot it. Start calling around and see who wants Bieber.

Bibee was brilliant - he has now allowed two runs or less in five of his six starts. Six innings, 2 hits, 9 K's. He got a ton of swings and misses by lefties against his changeup. His ERA is down to 2.88. Most importantly, he retired the top three hitters in the batting order 1-2-3 in the 6th inning - the third time they faced him. Coming in opponents were hitting .409 the third time they saw Bibee, but tonight he got Nootbar, Goldschmidt, and Gorman in order.

Hentges was awesome getting out of a bases loaded and nobody out jam, then getting the Cardinals in order in the 8th. If not for his excellence Karinchak's 4.57 ERA would be around 6.00. James needs to go down to Columbus to work on his command. He's now walked 19 batters in 21.2 innings. It's gotten so I expect him to walk the first two hitters he sees and I'm surprised if he doesn't.

DLS continues to make his case for being the 8th inning guy, lowering his ERA to 1.89 with a perfect 9th inning. Sandlin did not pay enough attention to Donovan who swiped 3rd in the 10th and scored on Fry's passed ball. If not for the stolen base and passed ball he doesn't score. But it doesn't matter - we would not have scored in the 11th or 12th, either. The Guardians were 2-for-12 with RISP.

No don't sell. AZ keeps insisting this offense is bound to turn it around any game now despite them being historically bad for a substantial part of the season

They get guys on base at a good clip... but they just aren't getting in. Their BABIP says they have been super unlucky as well! They will get some hits to fall and get a few more runs...

If anything they are getting themselves out more often than not, by swinging early and swinging at pitches outside the strike zone. That's on the hitters more than anyone else. JRam got himself out a couple times because he refuses to take walks....

How are they super unlucky when their exit velocities have to accumulatively be amongst the lowest in the league. They put the bat on the ball, but they hit it like a bunch of pussies.

I couldn't watch the game tonight, but was able to listen to a small portion on the radio. Can't say I'm disappointed I didn't get to see it other than missing Bibee's performance along with DLS and Hentges. Hats off to those guys.

Coming into today's game they're tied for the second lowest OBP % in the MLB.

Look at BABIP and weighted OBP and it shows they have been better than that. Plus when guys get on, especially in scoring position, they have been atrocious... which is all on the mental side of the ball, not the physical. Majority of their problems with the bats have been mental and not physical and JRam isn't helping since he is doing the same thing the rest of the team is, which he showed tonight...
