2023 Season | Series #19 | Guardians @ Twins | June 1-4, 2023

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
wonder if Civale can make it thru June without going back on the IL
Thats a legit concern.

Civale has always pitched well when healthy and on a regular turn. Thats not something that has happened much.

He has been a vastly underrated starter...when healthy. For his first 16 starts with Cleveland, he was as good...or better...than both Allen and Bibee. Until he got hurt in 2021 after 15 starts, he was headed to the All Star game. In his first two seasons (22 starts), Civale was more effective than TMac in his first two (30 starts). But he hasn't been able to stay healthy since.

I thought going into the season that Civale and Oscar were the two wild cards on this team. If Civale could stay healthy and Oscar could somehow out perform his highly unusual profile, the Guardians would be better, both in the rotation and offensively....enough to tip the scales towards the Guardians.

Neither of those ifs has happened...yet.

I dont think anybody should make decisions, based on Civale's ifs. But if he is fully healthy, he is a lot more than a BOR.

What a tough piece of meat that one was.

A lot of that is due to low run support. Bullpen hasn't been great but it's not like most teams have a lockdown pen
The analytics will tell you they are in the top 10 and maybe top 5 BP in the entire league. The lack of offense and untimely meltdowns with leads magnifies those meltdowns.

I firmly believe that some of the pitching struggles are directly related to our starting C. Anyone care to dig up the numbers between Zunino and Gallagher. I might be imagining things, but it seems like they pitch better when Cam's behind the plate.

The broadcasts are a quality product - but i don't have Apple TV+, like a lot of people.
MLB just keeps giving fans reasons to NOT WATCH.. hide the broadcast on a streaming service and watch the viewship numbers (real numbers) drop like a stone...

So Josh Bell to the paternity list and Brayan Rocchio has been recalled. Perfect day to sit Amed, start Arias at 1st. Rocchio or Freeman up the middle. Maybe give Hosey another game at DH is Naylor is still sore. We better see 2 of Arias, Freeman or Rocchio today.

Brennan in CF, Arias in RF, Naylor back at 1B, Jose DH, Amed on the bench, Rocchio at SS, Freeman at 3B.

Do it Tito! But I fully expect Amed at shortstop batting 2nd once again.

I actually think there is a good chance Amed sits today. Call it 75/25.

I wonder who’s going to shit themselves tonight. I’m on the edge of my seat!

We it be hitting or pitching? Starter or reliever? I can’t wait to find out!
