2023 Season | Series #28 | Braves @ Guardians | July 3-5, 2023

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Play Bell less
Play Straw less

I don't know why it's continuing to be this way

Nice to see Curry get out of the inning after giving up a couple of knocks..

Bo put a good swing on that one.. three good AB's for him tonight (with nothing to show for any of them).. I hope he gets to play three of the four against the Royals..

We’ll be 2 back after tonight.

Would be nice to sweep the Royals, go over .500, and stay within striking distance of the Twins.

Straw is more worthy of playing than Bell

We better throw at some of their guys in retaliation.

Atlanta had 19 hits - ouch. They are loaded top to bottom. I said Cal would get hammered and in fact he gave up 11 hits, but to be fair at least six of them were bloops or seeing-eye ground balls. He wasn't as bad as his numbers looked, but the Braves will beat him at least four times out of five.

Bo struck out twice chasing fastballs at the letters. Hope he learns.

Jose struck out on a pitch that hit him. Every now and then he does that. I have no idea what he's thinking on those pitches.

Sorotka kept throwing that fastball right at the top of the zone or slightly above and the Guardian hitters could not resist. He got a lot of outs on getting them to foul off fastballs above the zone, or in some cases, right down the middle. It was frustrating to watch them keep hacking away at fastballs at the letters, and fouling off pitch after pitch.

Josh Bell's Season from Hell continues. 0-for-4 tonight with a double play. The Braves did nothing but bust him inside with fastballs and sliders, retiring him easily.

Tim Herrin had some really impressive pitches. He blew away Ozuna with a 98 mph fastball at the letters. He made Eddie Rosario pop out to the catcher on an 82 mph curve. He struck out Alcuna on a back foot slider. He struck out Rosario the second time he faced him on a 97 mph fastball right down the middle.

Herrin is still inconsistent. Olson took him deep, but Olson leads the majors in home runs. But Herrin has tremendous potential IMO.

The Guardians got outhomered 8-0 for the series. They were lucky to steal a win from a vastly superior team. After losing to the Guardians the Braves were in no mood to mess around.

"The Guardians got outhomered 8-0 for the series....."

Actually it was 8-1.. Amed went yard for the 3rd run in the win on Tuesday.
