2023 Season | Series #30 | Guardians @ Rangers | July 14-16, 2023

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Well that was a shitty way to end that. Stephan has to get it back together. Oh well, sometimes you are the hammer and sometimes you are the nail, and sometimes you just get swept. At least Kwan has a big game.

I still think we are lacking a veteran arm out there... We lost our bullpen coach and we lost our only veteran arm out there and our next experienced guy went to the minors already in Karinchak...

It's honestly not an issue with the talent side, I would 100% bet its way more the mental side probably...

This is not a thing no matter how many times or different ways you say it :chuckle:

How old of an arm do you want? Is Honas Wagner available?

@Lee how was his mom's arm last night? Lol jk jk

My point was this, we have a new bullpen coach and our most experienced bullpen arm has only like 2 years in the MLB so my question is do we have anyone out there to help the young guys recover from bad days... People don't seem to believe me, when sometimes having someone who has been through the ringer can help way more than people believe...

Though at the end of the day, it's all on the mental side/maybe mechanical adjustments needed with the guys out there...

maybe you can "gin up" another / better trade for mid-six's E.R.A. Blackburn????

4.86 ERA with a 3.77 FIP... 10 K/9 to 3.2 BB/9

His real issue is the fact he is a pitch to contact style of pitcher...

So you are saying ... unless we trade Bell and Rosario ... he won't be good here. Gotcha ...

Well you aren't 100% wrong lol

It doesn't have to exactly be Blackburn, but adding a veteran SP, isn't going to hurt us in 23 with all the injuries...

My question with how pitching is set up, is why did they just not move Bibee to Monday once they knew about Bieber missing a start? Seems a little risky going Curry tonight (and needing pen) and then calling up Allen tomorrow who has been going fewer innings (3-4 innings) as of late (3 mlb starts and 2 AAA starts). Seems in the past Allen hits a wall come July/Aug and needs a few weeks to recover (e.g., july 2022 - 3 4-inning starts in a row and even in july 2021 he went 6 inn in July followed by 4, 4-1/3, 2, 5 inning starts). Hopefully, as he hasn't pitched since July 9th - so day 8 - he is well rested. But, if they wanted a bullpen game, why not have Civale, Williams, Pen game, Bibee, Allen, Civale. But, on flip side, it was in Texas where the pen sucked even for 3 innings. Had to wait until the mighty Pitt line-up to hope the strategy works, I guess.
