My question with how pitching is set up, is why did they just not move Bibee to Monday once they knew about Bieber missing a start? Seems a little risky going Curry tonight (and needing pen) and then calling up Allen tomorrow who has been going fewer innings (3-4 innings) as of late (3 mlb starts and 2 AAA starts). Seems in the past Allen hits a wall come July/Aug and needs a few weeks to recover (e.g., july 2022 - 3 4-inning starts in a row and even in july 2021 he went 6 inn in July followed by 4, 4-1/3, 2, 5 inning starts). Hopefully, as he hasn't pitched since July 9th - so day 8 - he is well rested. But, if they wanted a bullpen game, why not have Civale, Williams, Pen game, Bibee, Allen, Civale. But, on flip side, it was in Texas where the pen sucked even for 3 innings. Had to wait until the mighty Pitt line-up to hope the strategy works, I guess.
