Do Not Sell My Personal Information
no one is EVER advocating trading away our starting pitching.. more goal posting moving inanity..
I'm just going to quote the legendary Bart Simpson and simply state "Oh contraire mon frere". I know one person that thinks they could/should trade a SP..........and he still thinks they should.

@Gson didn't you put up a trade deal with Civale in it and getting back Langeliers and a pitching prospect?...

I think we could get away trading an SP since we got a ton of depth, but that isnt exactly ideal...

An incredible pitching prospect.. Jake Eder.. 6'4 220, four pitch mix including live FB, two plane slider and fading/dropping change up.. three plus pitches.. He's at AA after after recovering from TJ.. and will be making his way to the ML's by the 2023 season.. if not a cup of coffee this year..

Almost every deal has neutral pitching exchange or positive returns for catching to the Guardians and negative returns for other position players.. There is NO advocacy for trading away pitching without the return's potential being there....

So we are going to go with an unproven guy as our 5th starter the rest of the season with your deal? It doesn't matter upside, since if we did upside, Espino and Williams have more...

So in other words, more goal posting moving inanity...

We do not have a ton of SP depth for this year.

Pilkington and Myers are about it, unless you are willing to move Morgan out of the pen, where he has been a significant reason we are winning close games.

The rest of the youngsters will pass their upper IP limits by the end of August, if not sooner. You can't expect a kid who has never thrown much over 100 IP in a season to be an effective MLB SP in September.

This org...that develops its young pitchers in bubble wrap....is not going to force one or two of them into a pennant race and risk losing them for two years.

We do not need any more upper level prospects....and aren't going to trade any MLB SPs to get one this season.

Next year we will have depth up the kazoo.

no

Two guys who aren't unproven..

An unproven player is someone who hasn't played in the Bigs... You want a guy who is coming off of Tommy John and hasn't even pitched this season and you say they are proven? Or you want someone we currently have on the roster to replace Civale? Hentges and Morgan aren't considered starters anymore, so I believe it is, Pilkington who has the most MLB starts... Move on from Civale and pick up Eder, you are going to have to run an unproven SP as our 5th starter are we not?

doesn't change trading Civale..

Hentges isn't a starter..

Morgan can be... but he's more of a piggy back/multi-inning bullpen guy...

the guy(s) who replace Civale would not be unproven...
