Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Westburg has always been an IF, but dabble in the OF in the last year or so... Norby has gotten more OF time though...

Edit: I am not saying Valera is not a possibility, but I feel like we need to get a right hander with pop that has a better MLB chance than the likes of OGonz and J Rodriquez... I feel like Westburg could be that guy...
Coach, you know I'm a huge Westburg fan. I may have been the first around here to mention him and I'm all for getting him. The questions are what would it take to get him and which OFer(s) are sent packing? I think it's obvious that Baltimore is going to want pitching so who are you willing to sacrifice to get Jordan? You sending them Allen? Is he even enough?

I just did and Meyer is a huge question mark and has RP likelihood IMO. Regardless, I don't see Westburg as a fit any longer. Explain to me how he fits and who goes and I could change my stance. Exchanging Freeman and Valera creates no room for Westburg so you'll need to move a ML OFer or 2.

Looking at the Rays situation.. specifically with Wander and his self inflicted issues.. the Rays might explore the trade market for a talented middle infielder like Brayan Rocchio... The Rays have a continuously depleted farm system that they must build on.. but there are a few diamonds in the rough & consistently receive a competitive balance lottery draft pick (CBLDP) for each year's draft. Their next CBLDP will be a "B" pick or around the 62nd slot..

Thoughts?..

I think the Rays will give Basabe a long look until they find out how the Franco situation is resolved, or platoon Basabe and Taylor Walls.

If Spencer Turnbull becomes a free agent, do we try to get him on an MiLB next season?

Zavala got DFA'D and he has a ton of team control on top of being one of the better defensive Cs in the game right now...

Pick him up and have him take Giolito's starts the rest of the season and be the backup come 24 unless someone beats him out?

If @sportscoach had his way, we would have 13 catchers and 13 relief pitchers over the age of 35.
You'd think he'd target a "good" or quality catcher.. as opposed to this quantity barrage...

I'm the type, I would have an overall balanced catcher as the starter, while my backup is a captain type, defensive guy. I would always love to have a David Fry on the bench since it allows for way better roster flexibility...

I value defense over offense at the position, but if I can find a .220ish hitter with power that plays above average defense, then that's my goal, at least for a starter. I feel Naylor can do that one.

Zavala makes a ton of sense on paper, since he has four more years of control and from what I heard, the White Soxs pitchers all preferred him when it comes to pitching. He fits the backup spot for long term. He can lose it, but with the Guardians being light on catching prospects, he can at least fill in the backup role...
