Probably a more strict platoon, at that.. but.. it might be better to
call it a four man rotation w/ handedness being a factor...

-versus RHP's.. Brennan Kwan and Straw...
-versus LHP's.. Arias Kwan Straw..


Straw plays 75 - 90 % of the games..
Kwan plays 75 - 90 % of the games
.........note: this leaves as many as 500 AB's for Brennan/Arias.
Brennan gets the RHP side of the platoon in the OF or ~350 AB's
Arias gets the LHP side of the platoon in the OF or ~150 AB's

Tyler Freeman gets to fill in when ever Tito wants one of these
4 guys to have a day off their feet. If either both Arias & Freeman
are needed in the IF, both able to cover all four IF spots..

Awesome OF! Especially the Brennan, Kwan and Straw combo. There's a combined 2 HR in 304 AB. Nothing like striking fear in you opponents.

If you're going to platoon Arias you might as well trade him or send him down to Columbus to play fulltime.

Freeman playing sparingly will do the exact same thing to his bat as it does all the others.

Gimenez: .218 BA, .633 OPS in 68 games.
Arias: .182 BA, .590 OPS in 37 games.

If you're championing for Arias to be given up on already, that mindset likely means we miss out on Andres Gimenez before he put it all together last year.

As far as near replacements/additions... FA's are a waste of keystrokes... but.. Valera is making HUGE strides right now.. and could be considered inside of 60 days.. DeLauter is in that same genre.. hit for avg.. K/BB that is reasonable.. and lots of power..

The OF is another area of the MiLB system that can use a little help.. only a little..

Arias at the ML level.. should stay here.. fix it here..

His OPS+ is 93 and he has been DH literally the entire season.

What are you willing to give up for him though?
