Dominguez had Tommy john, he's out for 24 as an MLB player...
wrong...

SNY:
Yankees outfielder Jasson Dominguez continues to make strides as he works his way back from Tommy John surgery.

According to his skipper Aaron Boone, another milestone is expected to be marked off the checklist on Monday.

Already throwing from 75 feet – an uptick from the 60 feet he had been throwing from in late February – Dominguez will begin hitting from both sides of the plate on Monday, just two weeks after he began swinging a bat for the first time since his surgery.

During that time, he has only been swinging from the right side. Now, the switch-hitting outfielder will add left-handed swings to the mix and, as he had done with his right-handed swings, it’s likely the swings from the left side will start with hitting off a tee.

Roughly six months after undergoing the procedure on his elbow, Dominguez’s rehab is going smoothly so far. Last month, Boone told The Michael Kay Show that the 21-year-old will be "back in the summer for us. I’m confident in that."

Uhhhhh hell yeah, but do you think the Yankees would do something like that? I'd trade Freeman, Rocchio someone like a decent SP prospect for Dominguez. The Yankees will want nothing to do with Straw for obvious reasons. I guess if they need a target to throw shit at then he might be useful to them.
Not very likely.. but..

..the NYY's do have Pham and Judge and Verdugo and Stanton and.. they don't have space for both Dominguez or Spencer... and they do have a strong need for middle in field depth.. btw.. I originally had Laureano as going with Rocchio or Freeman....

Lars Nooooooot-bar (sounds like a peanutty candy treat !).. just broke some ribs.. making the Carlson retention out to be genius or opening the door for Victor Scott.. Scott can flat out fly and has wicked good bat to ball skills.. he's what a lead off guy looks like..

I said as an MLB PLAYER.. He won't be back until after the All-Star break...

He's a 21 year old, with 8 MLB games under his belt... He's not likely to get many ABs in MLB in 24...

I wouldn't against getting him, but I feel he won't do anything in 24...

MLB players play in April.. .May.. all the way through September.. some even play in October..

the comment said he won't be..

It wasn't about how many games he has played..

It wasn't about how many AB's he has.. or will get..

And you have NO F&Y)I(G IDEA what he's going to do in 2024...

It's a year healing timeline for Tommy John... Could be a bit sooner, but he would just DH if it's before then...

He will come back in the summer to the minors and get likely an extended look down there... Then if he's up it won't be before August...

You can't expect him to do anything in 24...

Not for position players.. and your still fully completely unaware of what he can or cannot do.. just STFU...

So you want a 21 year old, coming off a major injury to come back early and get MLB ABs when he has 8 MLB at bats in his career? He's not playing much if at all in the bigs in 24 since they won't bring him up before he is 100% in the OF, not just the batters box. Harper spent the whole season just about, after he had his, playing DH, but he was a proven MLB player in his late 20s at the time...

I like Dominguez and I would trade for him if the medicals check out, but he won't be contributing to any MLB team in 24 unless he is a DH...

It's a year for pitchers to return, but I'm not certain about position players Coach. I'd be curious to know if the timelines were the same or a little shorter for non-pitchers.

you only have to listen to the NYY's manager (see the quoted comments earlier in the string) and look up Yu Chen Chang's timeline for return from tommy john surgery to know it's not a full year for position players..

.... but that wouldn't involve feelings and all that... :bigcry:

Bryce Harper would be the one to compare too! He came back but he was straight DH once he came back. But there is a big different between Harper and Dominguez when it comes to coming back to MLB action. That was my whole argument...

I have Freeman making an impact in 24 and you had him in the deal, so I am for Dominguez, but I want to do it in a way that we don't trade someone I think can help us now and/or one of our top prospects.

I like Tyler Freeman. He's a nice little ballplayer, but you don't let him get in the way of acquiring someone like Dominguez. If you're trying to win anyway.

.....and describe "impact" please. He's not an impactful player so this should be good.

If you're looking at Tommy John recovery timelines, his name is Shohei Ohtani

I'm looking at player is Harper, because he is a pure position player that had Tommy John...
