Giving birth to one of, if not the best, TRUE Tag Team wrestling duo's in history... the Steiner Brothers
They were amazing.

The premier duo along with LOD for that 1989-1991 period.

I didn't know why they left WWF so quickly as a kid, where the Steiners and Rotunda continued their feud, but it turns out they felt they were not making as much money as they had been which tracks. 1993 was a down year in House Shows.

So, despite having the Title, they wanted out by late 1993 and began roughing up the jobbers to prove a point to Vince, including Scott's amateur turn as a proctologist.

I guess as early as 1994 WCW wanted to turn Scott into a singles wrestler, but he stayed on for while longer with Rick.

Rick later reunited with Rotunda to reform Varsity Club for Starccade 1999.

I'm trying to find the big Varsity Club-Steiners match.

Watching some 1990 stuff, and it's amazing how OVER Jake The Snake was and he never held any gold. Like he would clothesline Macho Man and the arena would erupt. Backstage politics really have to suck in the wrestling business.

Jake was so over he didn't need gold, according to several.

But, he was the victim of some really bad luck and timing.

He got his Hogan program cancelled due to Hulkster as you say.

But, he had his big program with Ultimate Warrior cancelled due to Hellwig's stupidity.

He was due to become Intercontinental Champion in 1988 I think, but that talentless hack Honky Tonk refused to drop the belt.

Jake was due to be named to the writing and booking committee, as Vince had promised knowing full well Jake had a great mind for that stuff, but had to hold off due to the second and third order effects of the Steroid trial and the resulting shuffle behind the scenes.

Vince asked Jake to have patience, and that they'd fulfill their promises when they could, but Jake blew up and quit after so many broken promises and set-backs, and left the company after Wrestlemania VIII.

Mike Rotunda should be in on his own, but this will do for now.

So should Barry who held every title WCW had at one point or another.

US Express was cool and all, and a big piece of WWE history at the first Wrestlemania, but is only 3rd most successful of Rotunda's tag teams.

Are Varsity Club and Money Inc. due to be inducted too?

Varsity Club was a big deal for a while in WCW, and Money Inc. was far more dominant than US Express.

Perhaps a preparatory for Windham's induction, as a family thing?

The Rockers need to be in the HOF. I know Party with Marty is a psycho, but they were legit.

Demolition isn't in, or Midnight Express and a few others including the Rockers.

POTUS channeled IRS last night: “PAY YOUR TAXES!!!!” Funny.

As for Mike Rotunda at one time he was teamed with Norman the Lunatic and Abdullah the Butcher. There‘s a trio.

Mike Rotunda suffered from some bad gimmicks in-between better gimmicks.

He went from Mike Rotunda, captain of the Varsity Club and 3x TV Champion, holding the title for 11 straight months, and WCW/NWA Tag-Team Champion, Top 5 guy in WCW between 1988-1990, to Captain Mike, a boat captain with Norman the Lunatic as his first mate in 1990.

Then he became Michael Wallstreet, which had promise with the York Foundation and the analytics, but then he jumped ship to WWF and become IRS.

Most would say IRS was his peak, but I thought he was at his best in Varsity Club. He was a really good heel wrestler in that period and extremely agile and showing off that he was a technical wizard given his NCAA bonafides. That version of Mike Rotunda was as good as Bret Hart and Curt Hennig technically.

By the time he was IRS, the quality of Faces he wrestled, and the WWF style meant he become more of a bruiser, as seen in Money Inc. feuds against teams like the Nastys and Natural Disasters. Not much room for technical wrestling and grappling. But that technical side came out any time he had a good opponent. His matches against Bret Hart and Macho Man were very good.

Here is a good match during the Varsity Club days between him and his brother-in-law Barry Windham. They beat the shit out of each other and break the ring. The match ends with Mike strangling Barry with a wire clothes-hanger.
