All-Time Indians RCF Fantasy Draft

Do Not Sell My Personal Information

“Preparing” for this draft led me to this gem of a video. Granted, I wasn’t even born during the 86 season, but how did the fans around here get that excited for a team whose ace was FORTY SEVEN years old in Phil Niekro? Fun watch.

Next pick is Jhonny Peralta

With my 12th pick (I think it's my turn) I'll select Ed Morgan (1B/DH).

Over his 6 years with the Tribe (1928-33) he averaged .323 with an .898 OPS and 127 OPS+.

In 1930 he went .349/.413/.601/1.014/150 OPS+. He had 204 hits, 47 doubles, 11 triples, 26 home runs and drove in 136 runs, 9th highest single season RBI total in Tribe history. His 351 total bases and 84 extra base hits are also 9th best in team history. He'll bat 5th or 6th for me.

I think @sportscoach is up next.

@sportscoach has been on the clock for close to 56 hours and has been online a few times while he's been on the clock, so I'm going to give him until tomorrow at noon before I force @Derek to make a celeb pick for him.

sportscoach takes Mike Rouse

I’ll be at a wedding this afternoon, but if he doesn’t make it, give him Matt Lawton

sportscoach gets Matt Lawton, OF.

With my 12th round pick, the Wailing Wahoos select Shane Bieber, starting pitcher.

Career w/ CLE: 2018-present
Career Stats w/ CLE: 26-13, 3.72 ERA, 1.15 WHIP, 3.30 FIP, 3 CG, 2 SHO, 377 K, 5.9 WAR, 1x All-Star

Bieber has only been in Cleveland for two seasons now, but since he was on our 2019 roster and is a near guaranteed lock to be on our Opening Day 2020 roster, he's eligible for this draft.

I'll obviously role with Bieber's superb 2019 season as the best of his two thus far. This year he went 15-8 with a 3.28 ERA, 1.05 WHIP, 3.33 FIP, 259 K, 3 CG (2 SHO), 144 ERA+, 1.7 BB/9 (led AL), and 4.9 WAR, while also making his first all-star game and taking home the ASG MVP trophy in front of his home fans. He projects to finish third in Cy Young voting behind Justin Verlander and Gerrit Cole.

Current Rotation:
- Corey Kluber
- Sam McDowell
- Trevor Bauer
- Shane Bieber

@JDailey23 is on the clock for back to back picks

What if he gets moved or blows out his arm ?

In that case I’d love for a Juan Gonzalez to have been able to have been selected.

From the rules:

"Also, forgot to mention, anybody on the 2019 Indians is fair game too. A guy like Shane Bieber technically wouldn't qualify since he's only been on the team for two seasons, but I'm not going to hold that against him since he hasn't had the chance to be a three year guy yet. If you want to draft a Shane Bieber, Brad Hand, or Oscar Mercado, feel free to do so. I will say no Yasiel Puig though since there's no chance he's here next season."

Juan Gonzalez played here in 2001 and then bailed and signed a contract with the Rangers and was horrifically injury prone the rest of his career. Gonzalez had a chance to be a three year guy here, but it never happened.

We're not trading Bieber, and I don't want to restrict current all-stars like him or Hand just because there's a chance they might blow out their arm skiing or something this offseason. Only reason I restricted Puig is because ownership and Tito already said he's pretty much a rental, and there's no way he's back.

@Stark Well I will accept him as my 4th OF guy, sorry I wasn't really able to get on the last couple days.
