Anthony Schwartz - Former Brown

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I felt like it was a bit shaky and he got lucky.

Yeah minus that first drop (might’ve been good D), I liked what we saw today. Reverses were solid, big catch. Good for him.

The drop sucks but it was at least a contested ball.

The reverses and the 19 yard catch were awesome signs though. The catch was one we had to have. And he made it. The end around will keep the backside edge from chasing down our RB's down from behind when we're running power. Great start!

Look, he can make some catches sometimes but it’s just really hard to trust him. He doesn’t seem confident at all and he is still deathly afraid of even the slightest contact.

Hoping for the best though.

You can see why his speed is such a threat. When he gets waist to waist with a defender they're toast.

I said this in the preseason.

If there’s a single player in this team where a leap matters, it’s him.

Because of his speed, and because he’s passable as a route runner (which is a huge credit to him, because he came in poorly last year), being able to catch the ball takes a weapon to a great player.

Especially when Watson returns. A lot of the board wanted Fuller- Schwartz, should his hands become passable, is probably a bigger weapon for Watson with the track speed over the top, and underneath.

Agreed. Hope it goes well but yesterday didn't really change anything for me.

Gotta give the kid some love for as critical as I've been of him. The end around was great, but the catch with his hands, cutback and first down was just as impressive to me.

Hopefully can be a real situational weapon going forward in the offense.

I still hold out hope.

However, I have nothing invested in him at this point. I don't think he's a good receiver, and his track speed isn't translating to the football field. He's fast, but definitely not "Holy shit, look how fast that guy is!" fast.

He's shown a little more than David Bell to me, but that's not saying much.
