Baker Mayfield: Fire The Cannons

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Brissett is certainly better than Baker was last year. I think fans will quickly realize that once this season begins.

I think over half of the backup QB's in the league could have been better that Mayfield last year.

I think the question is what will Mayfield look like this year. He could be a lot more like that guy from the last 8 games of 2020 that was loved & cherished by the fan base. If that's the case, then Brissett would not look so good.

That's true, though the flashes were very few and far between last year.

Brissett is not good by any stretch of the imagination but he is not a bottom 2 QB.

I think people are going to be pleasantly surprised how well this offense can perform with a QB that simply doesn't screw things up on a regular basis.

My guy did not watch a single snap of Brissett last year did he? Lol what are you even saying.

some folks are going to have their hopes dashed come start of the season...

like Milhouse, but with no flood pants :)

"I could beat you with one arm tied behind my back"

Baker to Brissett

Looking at the AFC QBs from last year, Baker was probably ranked 12 of 15 by performance. Slightly ahead of 3 rookies (Trevor Lawrence, Zach Wilson, and Davis Mills) and tailing Ben Roethlisberger narrowly.

I guess what I'm getting at it- if Watson is suspended- it's not a stretch to say Brissett might be the worst starting QB in the AFC

Mayfield is the worst QB in the league for some, yet his worst year is still better than Brissett’s best.

What’s not talked also is the Watson trade and how imbalanced the QB value market really is. Mahomes asking price seven #1 picks? Josh Allen five #1s? Watson with 20 plus accusers netted 3 firsts, ain’t no way is a top tier QB going for less than 4

And that's why this trade was made, elite qb's rarely become available and if they did, the asking price would be enormous. Watson's baggage is the only thing making him affordable to acquire.

There’s never been a trade in the NFL of this magnitude since the Ricky Williams haul or Herschel Walker.

This whole started out as an athlete looking for that “right” masseuse for that hard to reach area that most regular clients don’t get to Watson just looking for happy endings to possibly after sexual contact requiring NDA for service rendered. Don’t be butthurt at me folks, I’m the one with the Browns at 40-1 to win the SB; I should be salty

I’m so tired of the Mayfield trade talk…wake me up when training camp is here.

Mayfield's worst season with one arm compared to Brissett's best season. I think Brissett is a good backup and a fit for this offense, but to believe he's better than Mayfield is laughable. the stats to me show Brissett's lack of arm strength downfield while Mayfield clearly wasn't hitting his receivers almost last. what sticks out is the line play, same rank in blitzes and almost same time with ball in their hands, but the sack differential shows how bad the line was last season. with Brissett's lack of arm strength and the line of last season, have mercy on us.

time to throw data is from next gen stats

edit: the table wasn't planned like this, sorry
