Baker Mayfield: Fire The Cannons

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
It’s awful. Not clever. 0/10, seen better on the internet.
"feeling skittish" is 0/10. not based on any historical substance.

current title is something he actually said.

i suggested some things he actually did.

you are completely making something up out of thin air.

up your insult game and then come talk to me.

It's time to start counting Dorsey's misses, as they are adding up...

Corbett
Baker?
Freddie
Zeitler for Vernon
Chad Thomas
Cutting Nassib
Heck I'm even starting to worry about Ward...so injury prone

Probably can toss Calloway on there. Going to give it some more time, but a 1st, 3rd, and Peppers for OBJ might be on the list when it’s all said and done.

Ogbah for Eric Murray has to be up there too. Nassib and Ogbah could be good rotational players right now.

Cutting Briean Boddy-Calhoun and Kindred for the DBs that were brought in definitely wasn't a upgrade. I actually think Kindred and BBC would have helped against the run more than what we currently have.

You know what skittish is right?

Anyone have blitz percentage numbers vs the Browns?

Seems with how bad the o-line is opposing defenses aren’t having to blitz much to generate pressure, allowing them to keep more guys in coverage. This is likely the reason that by the numbers Baker has more time to throw but winds up with fewer throwing lanes down the field. Not excusing his play, but it could be a factor.
Going by average separation numbers from last week he had guys well above the NFL average in separation but took 3.38 seconds on average to get the ball out so at least for the 49ers game I don’t think that’s the case.

Awful pick for sure. But Freddie’s lack of game management is just as egregious. You let the clock run and get Seattle’s last timeout that way you at least go into the half up 23-12.

But Baker doesn’t get a pass, that was a horrible decision.

I don't think he was horrific today, definitely not great make no mistake. But situation football, you got to understand what's at hand. And forcing throws, is NOT what you do there.

The lack of awareness there, really is frustrating to me.

It’s still a ridiculous comment

Odell the most targeted wr this game and you bump a post where you claim that Baker is sabotaging Odell? Are you a troll or what

It's all a ruse. Baker threw to him just enough to deceive people into thinking he was trying to do something productive for the offense. Baker still purposely made him drop some balls and overthrew him just to make sure OBJ looked bad and didn't get all the "shine" :falloff:

I think it's also fair to assume Baker really did take a big time shot to his hip, and that effected his accuracy and throwing mechanics afterwards. I've noticed he looks a lot better with the ball before he takes a few hits. Last year he was the least hit quarterback in the NFL during the Browns hot streak, and the team needs to examine how to keep his jersey cleaner before the Patriots game.

Yeah. Freddie just put him in a shitty situation. 2nd & 8 at the 10 with 1:40 left and three timeouts. Can still run the ball. Can still pick up a first down. Worst case you bleed the clock and kick a field goal.

I agree the awareness on Baker’s end was terrible. Just throw it out of the end zone and run another play. Never really should’ve been in that position in the first place. We didn’t even need to run routes into the end zone at that point. Just bad execution all the way around.

its fun to play dumb huh...

cant wait til "locker room" chatter leaks about the discontent and disconnect.

people act stupid as if players who dont like each other or have issues with each other cant share the ball with each other.. lol bunch of goof balls.

OBJ WIIIIIIIIIIIIDE open in plain view and he looks him off... nothing to see here, folks.. just read the play wrong is all lol

It’s pretty well known Baker, OBJ, and Landry were all friends prior to playing together.

Yes, when a team is losing there will always be discontent. It doesn’t mean players don’t like each other. In fact, if a team is losing and some discontent doesn’t start popping up it usually points to guys being OK with losing, believe it or not.

You also might have missed that OBJ had 11 targets today, more than the next two guys combined.

In the play you want to keep referencing for some reason, OBJ isn’t as open as he might appear. With the safety help over the top, Baker would have had to hit OBJ with a perfect throw out of the break or else the safety is in position to make the play. He only looks WIDE open once Baker looks to the other side of the field.

I don’t think you’ll see many people denying that Baker looks like garbage. He’s currently playing as a bottom 5 QB.

Doesn’t mean you have to create an imaginary storyline that Baker doesn’t like OBJ and is in turn sabotaging the rest of the offense because of it. You know how absurd that sounds?

Maybe back off the ESPN, Reddit feeds, and social media for a few plays.
