Not that Myles "wasn't any good," but that as a rookie he did have some growing pains i.e. penalties that helped prevent making it to the first W.
If individual players aren't relevant to Ws and Ls in a team sport, then why tout their captainship, and for that matter, why even acquire them, since the point of the game is to win? You're making the circular argument here; again, just interesting that you juxtaposed him with our [likely] record after next week.
I happen to think QB >>>> trenches > DBs > everyone else in contributing to Ws and Ls, and Vegas appears to agree with me, as even prime JJ Watt/Gronk/etc. are only worth about a point or two in the lines.
Yes, I've probably taken the W/L argument too far at times; I had always been skeptical about OBJ's value, or ANY elite WR i.e. Josh Gordon, because Giants went from 7-9 the year before OBJ to 6-10 both of his first two years, and that his rookie year they were 4-8 with him and 2-2 without him. It's probably a ridiculous argument, although the "we shouldn't have made the trade" rants we see here feel tempting when we struggle.
