What pisses me off when comparing the Big Ten to the SEC and their subsequent records is the number of recruits the schools sign in the respective conferences. The SEC oversigns recruits more than any other conference whereas the Big Ten oversigns the least. Over the last 4 years, the Big Ten teams have signed, on average, 86 recruits while the SEC has signed, on average, 103.
So, the average SEC team has the benefit of sifting through what amounts to an extra recruiting class to make their teams better. It is pretty disgusting how they root out kids they missed on and show them the door, declaring them medical cases or encouraging them to transfer.
The fact that OSU can do as well as they do without oversigning is pretty impressive to me.
