Wasn’t sure where to put this but this seemed like as good a place as any:

Thats 31 snaps per game, or roughly 40-50% of snaps on one side of the ball or the other. For the Browns last year, I’m guessing Wills was the only player above 500 snaps for the season, though I think they definitely had Delpit earmarked for a huge role and snap count prior to his injury

We also are going to be a very young team as well... Most of the playmakers on this team are in their primes/getting to their prime years so we really are a scary looking roster in that way as well.

Numbers game.

Can't really envision a scenario where they keep more than 6 linebackers.

Walker, JOK, Phillips, M. Smith, Takitaki, Fields and Wilson makes 7. Someone's seemingly not going to make it. The only two guys of the 7 listed that weren't drafted/signed by Berry are Takitaki and Wilson. If I had to pick between the two, I'd pick Takitaki.

I can see a scenerio where we only keep 5 actually, I think both Wilson and Takitaki could be in gone, I also dont think Smith is safe.

I know most think only Newsome and JOK play major roles as rookies, but hen you draft a guy like Dick LeCunt, you play him. He goes hard.

This. Takitaki brings some size, run defense, and physicality that the group is missing. Wilson brings bad pass coverage and some athleticism?

The likeliest way I see Mack Wilson making this team is if Tony Fields doesn't, and I doubt that happens.

The other way I could see is if we just cut Takitaki instead. That's probably Mack's best route to a roster spot.

I think people are forgetting that Takitaki actually played pretty well last year in spite of everyone around him playing like garbage.

He was third in tackles, had 2 picks (one taken to the house / the other in the playoffs) and he plays the run very well. He showed positive growth from YR1 - YR2.

I look at Wilson as a situational specialist at this point (and not that great of one). I think his 2019 year tricked us into thinking he was better than he is because he got his hands on more passes. He was woefully bad last year.

That’s like asking what you should do if your dick falls off. I suppose it could happen, but I wouldn’t waste energy worrying about it, or on how to deal with the consequences.
Perfect response to this line of conjecture.

I know fans relate to Wilson because he's a fan himself on Twitter, but I can almost guarantee he'll be a surprise cut. I'm sure a team like Cinci will scoop him up. He could be decent in a 3-4 as the 2nd ILB, maybe. But that's if he has a year like 2019 and get his hand on some passes.

Wasn't that really just the preseason? He was out there picking off the other team's 3rd stringer?

They obviously hated the LB room last year, as did most fans. Brought in Walker as the young veteran (26 yo in August) and drafted two after drafting Phillips last year. Looks like they top out at about 230 pounds, with the new draftees closer to 220. Mack Wilson doesn't fit what they're looking for IMO.
