Offensively I don't think they need *that* much.

QB: Good for 2021
RB: Good for 2021
FB: Good for 2021

WR: Resigning Higgins is a big priority to me. Something like 3/18 with 9.5 guaranteed would work nicely. They need to add more vertical speed to this group even if OBJ returns. They should have plenty of options both in the draft and free agency.

TE: I know they like Bryant, but I really thought Njoku was better. I would at the very least bring David back for 2021 since they picked up his 5th year option already. If they do move on via trade, then I could see them using another draft pick on another TE.

OL: I don't think the depth is nearly as bad as some others do. They have 5 extremely capable starters and what appears to be four capable backups plus some intriguing developmental guys. They just had an unfortunate rash of injuries within this group at the same time that you just don't normally see. If Hubbard isn't capable of returning, they could use a swing tackle, but that's not something I would to address with a draft pick IMO. Let Callahan keep developing guys like Harris, Hance, Dunn, Taylor and Forbes.

K and P: I would explore upgrading both spots, but not with draft picks. Parkey has no real range and Gillan, while popular, oddly regressed from a great rookie year (you wonder if he was dealing with an injury?)

Defensively they need a ton. If Grant Delpit, Greedy Williams and Curtis Weaver all are able to return from their major injuries, the Browns *still* need at least 12 new bodies on this side of the ball.

DE: Garrett is an entrenched starter. Clayborn should be back, but he's a 15 snap per game rotation guy, not a starter. Gustin makes peanuts, so he should at least be brought to camp. Hopefully Weaver (a PFF darling) can earn a spot. The Browns need to add at least two players capable of playing heavy snaps to this group.

DT: Richardson is an entrenched starter for one more year. Elliott has decent potential and should be a rotation guy. Hopefully Billings is able to return and step in as a starter opposite Richardson. I would let Ogunjobi walk in free agency. The Browns need to add at least one player capable of playing heavy snaps to this group.

LB: Takitaki and Phillips are both signed for cheap and should return. Wilson should be let go. I can't imagine Smith will find the fountain of youth for the second year in a row, so I'd let him go. Keep Goodson if he's willing to return on another cheap 1 year deal, otherwise let him walk. I think the Browns need three new players here, with at least one of them and possibly two of them able to play heavy snaps as needed.

CB: Ward is an entrenched starter. You hope Greedy can earn a spot, but you're not relying on him for any reason. I would like to retain Mitchell as a free agent on a short deal. T. Thomas should return as a special teams ace. K. Johnson, R. Jackson and Stewart all should be let go. The Browns need to add three new players here, with two of them able to play heavy snaps as needed.

S: Harrison is an entrenched starter. You hope Delpit can earn a spot. Joseph, Sendejo and Redwine should all be let go. The Browns need to add three new players here, with at least one of them able to play heavy snaps as needed.
What an awesome write up! Thanks for taking the time to do this... I’ll be coming back to this post thru the off season.

I don’t think I disagree with any of it.

I want to see the Browns get their hands on a true gadget type defensive player. I thought Delpit was going to be it, but I'm scared of his achilles.

Give me the guy who can move all around the field and be assigned anything. Cover a back, cover a tight end, move up against the run, drop back into coverage, etc.

Obviously what I'm asking for isn't easy to find, but where is that playmaker whose window to make plays isn't narrow like a Garrett or a Ward. I want to see this defense get its hands on a Polamalu or a Minkah. Even a Devin Bush type.

Have to fix the D and hope Stefanski improves his late game management. Offense is pretty good. But for how long can we keep it together?

Keep in mind, this may have been our best shot. Mahomes is only 24. We will have to get past him again. Lamar and the Ravens certainly have our number. And if the Steelers replace Ben, that’s a tough out. If I’m playing the percentages i can’t just assume we take the next step. Contracts become a problem soon. You have a very small window in the NFL and we wasted one year with Freddie, and we just Brownsed as huge opportunity this year.

We are a third place team in the division. I’d start with winning the North before I think of an AFC Championship game again. Not gonna lie, I thought we had it. Bitterly disappointing end.

Levonta David and Desmond king would be my top 2 targets. If we got them and did nothing else it would be a successful offseason imo. David would be so huge for this defense. We need a reliable tackler with elite coverage skills. And king would give us an elite slot corner and return guy. we haven’t had a return work a damn since Travis Benjamin.

I'll sing this tune all offseason, but if the bolded the case, then something went horribly wrong with any combination of Stefanski, Mayfield, and the FO in the future, and we'll look back on this year as a fluke anyway.

The Browns were the worst defensive team left in the playoffs, and were probably the worst defensive team in the entire NFL. Baker has just started to look like he's grasping the system that was installed this year. Stefanski was a first time head coach. The front office filled massive holes in a prudent fashion.

Some of you guys are just determined to hold on to misery.

It should be noted that this isn't how "percentages" work, by any stretch of the imagination.

This take is so bad I don’t even know where to start. Probably best to just move on.

Ignored member 3 incoming.

you should have been #1 but I didn’t want to give you the title.

2021 outlook

Teams ahead of the Browns:
Chiefs, Ravens, Bills, Packers, Seahawks

Teams close or on par to the Browns:
Titans, Dolphins, Rams

Wild cards due to QB
Steelers, Saints, Colts, Bucs

Wild card due to head coach
Patriots

So the Browns are in the mix, a top 10-15 team. If they want to take a leap to contender it’s fixing the D and more reps on offense. Stefanski learned some time management lessons on Sunday too which can’t be taught.

You're the worst poster on this forum. That's quite an accomplishment.

By saying the Browns are likely a top 10 team next year but have stiff competition and need to fix the D? They didn’t force a single punt all game. Have to do better. Lots of things to like this year but lots to fix.

Honestly you’re all giving him exactly what he wants. He’s a clear cut troll getting all his nutrients from the spotlight put on him

The Ravens being 1 of the 5 best teams should be a dead giveaway if Michael Jordan wasn’t
