BROWNS OFF-SEASON 2020

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Why does it feel like if you don't agree that Pat Mahomes is the second coming you have to get taken to the shed? I think we all understand how great h is but are people not allowed to like other QB's more? Personally I still like Russell Wilson and Aaron Rodgers more than Mahomes.

If you have a legitimate argument to make that explains such a take, I'm all for hearing it.

I'm not taking away anything from those two QBs, because they're probably in my Top 5 as well. But nothing I've seen from them in recent years eclipses what I've seen from Mahomes in the last two.

Mahomes seems like a hybrid of the other two, some genetic Frankenstein of their talent sent here to destroy worlds. In a system designed to help him grow and take the most advantage of his talent.

He really is a hybrid of both of them but I think it's fair to wait and see some more. I mean if he keeps this up for another 4-5 years then yeah there should be no questions asked. I just see a lot of Hall of Fame talk and I'm confused. Another thing Mahomes has is the perfect system for him. I really think that Russell Wilson with a better offensive system would have at least 2 more Super Bowls. Aaron Rodgers on a team with a better system has at least 3. Mahomes has both the benefit of being elite like the other two but the clear advantage in his situation.

How many Super Bowls would Andy Reid win with Aaron Rodgers as his QB?

I like Pat Mahomes though even though I'm coming across like a hater lololololol.

It's funny you say that... I feel that way about Lamar Jackson, not Mahomes. I feel like MANY of Lamar's weaknesses were shrouded by Roman's offense and with an entire year of tape on that offense, some of Lamar's warts will start popping up. He will always be an electrifying QB who is tough to defend but I'm not sure he will remain an elite QB - but I could be wrong.

As for Mahomes - I had some doubts even after that insane 2018 season but mid-way through 2019 those doubts were washed away.

I'm not sure their offensive systems are THAT different systematically to make the claim that Wilson or Rodgers would have some sort of superior value to Mahomes. Much of what the Chiefs have developed around Mahomes was taken from Green Bay where they pushed the ball hard down the field off play-action and creative advantageous matchups at all levels.

If its just swapping out McCarthy/LaFleur in the case of Rodgers, or Bevell/Schott in Wilson's, I agree that Reid provides the optimal value.

But Mahomes' 30+ starts is more than enough to gauge the type of player he is, and using just Super Bowls isn't a metric that concerns me even a little bit. Simply from a talent, execution, consistency and explosion standpoint, Mahomes has been a superior player in the league for two years now.

While you can't have that without a strong scheme to support players, its not enough to decrease his overall value as a player.

Give me any of the three and you're discussing the three most important QBs for how the position is played now.

Actually involved with this product from a business perspective.

Oakley and Schutt are both coming out with some supposed “season-saving” products in the coming weeks, should hit the retail market by August 1 or shortly thereafter.

I’m not convinced of the tech on these products, based on what I’ve seen from both thus far.

Well, Wilson was more MVP-deserving than anyone last year, simply because Mahomes missed games. Wilson should've won over Lamar, but I realize that the vote was largely based on their head-to-head game.

I still like Rodgers, but he had a lower QBR than Baker and Danny Dimes last year, which while not a be-all, is enough to bump him far behind Mahomes/Lamar/Wilson.

Top 5 isn’t constructed solely based on the numbers of the most recent year, but who I think the top five most talented QBs are.

If Teller (who I consider the weak link of the line) has a good season, we could have one of the best OL's in the league.

I don't think it was a mistake that Thorn is supporting his argument for Wyatt by showing him get out and reach on some of these zone blocks.

He's always been something of an athletic freak for his position group from a strength perspective, him succeeding in Stefanski's scheme is all going to be about consistency for him. If he can get to his spot, he's going to be better than OK.

Breakout candidate in Y3 in the league and 20+ starts under his belt.

Conklin, Bitonio, Tretter, Wills will be really good. If Teller can pull his weight, with Lamm and Hubbard backing up, we may have something special.

Baker and his 93 Madden arm strength rating should have no further excuses.
