BROWNS OFF-SEASON 2020

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
On another note....

I get that people want to dunk on this idea, but every reduction in non-game contact activity that is feasible has some level of incremental benefit, especially when older coaches, security/camera/etc. staff who are not in pro athlete shape, etc. are involved.
There's no reason safety should be "dunked on."

If you want to be able to watch football, you should be in favor of every safety measure out there, and doing whatever you can right now to prevent the spread of this virus. The fewer infections there are, the more likely you are to get to watch football.

Well, everyone from fearfuls to skeptics was perceiving it as, "oh, NOW you want them to stop with contact after the game, after they've been tackling all game, and giving each other all sorts of other ailments."

That neither the die-hards on either the fearful or the skeptic side are able/willing to see nuance with basically anything COVID related is a huge problem of the last 4 months.

Hopefully they have a plan in place for extra security b/c you know IF fans are allowed in, those drunk fucks who always want to fight at games will take off their mask, someone will tell them to put it on, fight ensues, spitting ensues..not saying just Browns fans, but everyone (Eagles, Eagles, Cowboys, Eagles).

I have heard Philadelphia fans like to fight.

Have you ever watched Mixon play? He's really damn good. The Bengals had arguably the worst offensive line in the NFL last year and lost their first round pick LT to a season-ending injury before the season even started, and the team had even worse QB play than we did. He still rushed for over 1100 yards and had 1400 all-purpose yards.

The Bengals should be much-improved this year, with a better o-line and likely a huge upgrade in QB play. Mixon is in line to slay this year, same as Chubb.
I watch him as much as any other Browns fan - twice a year and the occasional in-division Bengals match-ups that are televised. He's a fine back but he is not in Nick Chubb's stratosphere.

You're using the Bengals' line issues to support your argument and I'll hear that argument. But Chubb had Greg Robinson, Chris Hubbard, and a revolving door at right guard and nearly led the NFL in rushing; not to mention overcoming Freddie's absolute ineptitude.

Mixon is entering year 4 and he's yet to establish himself as a top-5 back that some projected him to be.

ESPN's Dianna Russini reports the NFL and NFLPA have yet to formally agree on a July 28 report date for training camp.

Interesting about the fully guaranteed salaries if games are cancelled, what if the worst happens and the season gets canceled?

There are going to be many players who will hope to not play and get paid, going to be some conflict of interests. Crazy!

All that says is that if a player has guaranteed money on his contract that year it has to get paid out. They aren’t saying if there are no games all contracts get converted to guaranteed 100%.

Browns signed third-round LB Jacob Phillips to a four-year contract.
Phillips (6’3/229) was a two-year starting inside linebacker at LSU who led the SEC in tackles (113) as a junior during the Tigers’ National Championship season. He’s an instinctual player who plugs gaps against the run while remaining in control of his body, but his best trait is his reliable tackling. He finished 5th in PFF’s tackling grade among 460 FBS qualifiers, only missing 5-of-75 potential tackles. He was serviceable in coverage (7.2 YPT allowed) as well, although shiftier NFL players will give him more trouble. Jacobs, a 35th percentile athlete with 4.66 speed, could compete for starting reps on defense but should at least be an asset on special teams given his vision and high-end college production. Phillips just turned 21 years old on draft night.

Why does it feel like if you don't agree that Pat Mahomes is the second coming you have to get taken to the shed? I think we all understand how great h is but are people not allowed to like other QB's more? Personally I still like Russell Wilson and Aaron Rodgers more than Mahomes.
