BROWNS OFF-SEASON 2020

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
This is absolutely horrendous.

Meh, it's not that crazy. Plus, what does "rank the top 10 RB's for this coming season" even mean? Is it who is going to have the best statistical season? Is it who's the most talented player regardless of scheme or situation? Is it who's the most valuable to have on your roster considering age and contract? The question sucks, so it's not surprising when the answers are a bit all over the place.

Personally, if I'm asking the question of "who is the most talented RB for the 2020 season, regardless of scheme and situation" then I think Henry, Kamara and Cook are a bit overrated. I'd personally keep the top 3, slot Mixon at 4 and Chubb at 5.

If you wanted to argue for dropping CMC all the way to 5, I'd hear that argument as well. But I'm a bit biased against smaller backs like him and I think he belongs near the top.

I thought the original list was the most off base ranking I'd see today... Then I read your post.

Mixon probably doesn't even deserve top 10 recognition let alone at 4 or above Chubb.

Its always been that way, too.

It's why he was drafted a 2. People love the idea of this big, explosive running back with receiving skills, regardless of his production.

Cool story bro.

I'm sorry I don't rank Chubb 1 and Hunt 2. I can be such a dummy sometimes.

If you're gonna shit all over everyone else, care to at least provide your thoughts on the subject?

This is absolutely horrendous.

The beginning of the list (Barkley) and the end of the list (Bell) are there based on their reputation. Barkely for what he's expected to do, and Bell for what he has done. I don't really have a problem with the rest of the list.

LMAO

Barkley as a rookie:

1,307 rush yards, 5.0 YPC

91 receptions for 721 yards

15 total TD;s

Get the fuck out of here. When healthy its Barkley and its CMC at the top and arguing against that is just some bullshit bias.

It's always hard to argue these kind of lists because players are often so close in skill that you can't definitively say something. Not to mention all the variables (coaching, scheme, o-line, other players on the team, etc...) that can impact a player's production. I think tiered groupings work best, but even then you gotta kind of be flexible to others perspectives unless they're just blatantly ridiculous.

Imagine thinking Joe Mixon is the 4th best running back in the NFL.

If we're going off of last season and their respective production/projected impact going forward:

1. CMC
2. Henry
3. Chubb
4. Zeke
5. Barkley

Yeah, imagine a complete back with size, speed, agility and power, who can both run and catch the ball in any NFL scheme, who also led the league in evaded tackles and was #2 in yards created (yards besides just what were blocked by the offensive line) and then slotting that guy near the top of his position.

But hey, I'm sure stats irrespective of talent and situation are a way better indicator.

Mixon's a complete back with above average marks in every facet of the game. I despise him as a person off the field, but there's no denying the talent on the field. If you think it's crazy to have him near the top of his position group, that's on you.

Have you ever watched Mixon play? He's really damn good. The Bengals had arguably the worst offensive line in the NFL last year and lost their first round pick LT to a season-ending injury before the season even started, and the team had even worse QB play than we did. He still rushed for over 1100 yards and had 1400 all-purpose yards.

The Bengals should be much-improved this year, with a better o-line and likely a huge upgrade in QB play. Mixon is in line to slay this year, same as Chubb.

On another note....

I get that people want to dunk on this idea, but every reduction in non-game contact activity that is feasible has some level of incremental benefit, especially when older coaches, security/camera/etc. staff who are not in pro athlete shape, etc. are involved.
