BROWNS OFF-SEASON 2020

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
The Cleveland Plain Dealer considers the Browns a landing spot for free agent Anthony Harris.
The Browns got by with Juston Burris and Damarious Randall last year but are in the market for an upgrade. Making a run at Harris makes sense given his Kevin Stefanski ties, though he's likely going to land at least the $10 million AAV Lamarcus Joyner got last offseason. Cleveland may also be a fit for free agent Everson Griffen depending on what happens with Olivier Vernon.

Harris is going to get way more than 10M AAV I would imagine.

Probably 13-15 per year.

How did I miss that funeral shit? That's a wild ass story man. Damn lolololololol.

CBS Sports' Jason La Canfora reports the Browns are expected to pursue QB Chase Daniel when free agency begins.
Daniel has earned at least $10 millino from three different teams since 2013. He has seven career passing touchdowns in five career starts. Legend.

I love him as a back-up. Draft a young QB in the later rounds to develop as a third-string or practice squad guy.

Former Vikings quarterback Case Keenum is also on the radar, a league source says.

Daniel, 33, has spent the past two seasons with the Bears, but has 11 years NFL experience and has plenty to offer from a mentorship standpoint.

The Browns are looking to change the dynamics of their quarterback room and provide Mayfield with a solid veteran leader who can help him grow and develop. He had that in Drew Stanton the past two seasons, but Stanton, who missed all of last season with a knee injury, is set to become a free agent and the Browns are apparently leaning towards going in another direction.

Mayfield also had his longtime good friend Garrett Gilbert in the quarterback room last year, and Gilbert is not expected to be going anywhere for now. He’s under contract in 2020 at $660,000 and could serve as the third quarterback again if the Browns add an experienced veteran.

Pass on both. Can we finally have Teddy on our roster?

I think Case Keenum is a much better QB than Teddy Bridgewater.

Yes, I realize that the Saints won a bunch of games with Bridgewater at QB, but I contend that was due to the team around him rather than the QB. Also, if you want to talk about wins, just look at Keenum's career year with Minnesota.

Teddy doesn't do anything well. He's extremely conservative and can't push the ball downfield. Honestly, he kinda reminded me of Mason Rudolph in terms of how conservative and limited those two offenses became with the backup QB at the helm. The difference is that the Steelers don't have any talent around that QB, while the Saints still had a very talented roster.

Keenum can at least keep a defense honest and sling the ball downfield. He's consistently been one of the best QB's in the NFL in play action pass scenarios, so that's at least one strength you can look towards.
