If the Dutch can reclaim land from the sea, if the Saudis can build islands of dredged sand, if the Chinese can build bases in the S China Sea, then dammit...let's go for it!

How many years of accumulated garbage would it take to pack down into a weight bearing island inside the breakwall?
Mix in a little concrete mix with the garbage and they could probably get federal money for it as an environmental project. God knows the government has wasted money on worse projects...smh...

Chase Center of the Warriors and Oracle Park of the Giants are built on landfill at the eastern edge of San Francisco's South of Market neighborhood. It can be done.

Or the NFC Champion Santa Clara 49ers.

In this case it is the most egregious case.

Levi's Stadium is like 40 miles from SF.
40 miles with bay area traffic which is like 75 ohio miles, lol

Current Browns stadium is built on a landfill, too. This is also why it's so expensive to rebuild there- pilings have to driven down to bedrock, which is 40 feet down. It's also why the current stadium is falling apart, they used the original pilings, wood pilings driven into the ground 100 years ago, to build the new stadium on.

Building on cursed land? Hmmm, what does that remind me of?

If we're gonna mess with a landfill, why not just dig up the bodies from that cemetery next to progressive? That spot is a tremendous waste of land.

There was a proposal to build an airport on the lake. The access highway was to extend due north from Dead Man’s Curve. Completely nuts but it was on the 6pm local news. Those people will believe anything.

That one isn't really big enough... but I'm all for digging up old cemeteries and moving them to the suburbs. A lot has happened since the mid-19th century. If their grandkids all moved to Lorain County to avoid paying property taxes, the dead ancestors can move too.

Maybe not as it currently stands but it's adjacent to lots in multiple directions and some buildings that are likely replaceable or are occupied by companies that could be moved.
