Bush pardons criminal Scooter Libby

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Why must you always go back in time to bring up Clinton to cover up your own mistakes, that is the past, leave it be.

Kev, I'm not bringing up Clinton to cover up anything. Your first sentence expressed shock that no one is talking about this...it isn't shocking at all...everyone knew there was a better than 50% chance it was going to happen. Every Pres pardons people, I'm not saying it's right. But let's not act like he's the only one that has done this or it is some Republican Party thing. In fact, Clinton SOLD PARDONS.

I'm voting democrat all the way down the line.

I've read enough of your posts to know you are better than that. Voting purely along party lines is wasting your vote. Vote for the best candidate or don't vote at all.

I'll pass on Bloomburg. And James it's kinda funny that you would support him because from how you post on here about half the things he stands for you are totally against.

Good observation, but really, im not voting for "sides" or "names" i will vote for who can best lead our country on 2 things.

1. Who can keep the United States of America safe and free of terrorists.
2. Who can best lead our country out of Iraq.

Im not going to not vote for someone because:

A. Race, Religion, Gender
B. Party

Voting on those kinds of things makes no sense, i have met people in my line of work who campaigned for George Allen, a brash Conservative Virginian, who is probably the biggest douche to ever befoul an elected seat of office, when i asked the girl why she was voting for him she said "because he is a republican." Saying something like that shows you have no idea of how things work, a 4 year old can pick sides. But it has no meaning.

And also, id like to re-word what i said earlier, maybe this doesnt apply to all of you, but this is my belief, and i consider myself a man of integrity. Its how i was raised and where my values lay.

If someone who works for me does something wrong, gets punished, i will vouch for his mistakes and do what i can do to change, its how the game works, not in politics, but in life in general. The damage has been done to Libby, he will never work again, he is a wra, he might as well move to Iowa, i dont know if you guys know what "disbarred" means, but it means he can no longer practice law, $250,000 is a lot for Libby, you may think he is "well off" but as a governemnt official, thats close to what he makes a year.

With that in mind, the least i would be able to do for someone who WORKED for me, is get them out of jail, its not like this guy is off thehook, he also has a felony and probation. Jail for him would have been in some lush place out in Maryland, so his life wasnt going to be like OZ or something. He also has kids i believe, the family name has already been disgraced, at least let the man care for his children.

First off stop being condescending, you are talking like this is class or something and im sure more than a few people could school you on a whole host of topics so leave that shit at the door.

250k is alot for the avg. person but for someone who has become a house hold name it's nothing. Libby will easily get a book deal or like i said a spot on Fox.

If someone worked for me and and knew who was stealing from me but wouldn't tell the police you think im going to help that person out? Hell no. Thats how i feel about this case this isn't about Libby and the WH its about the WH and the American people. These people work for us not the other way around.

The thing YOU don't understand is the scope of what went on. A CIA agent was outed by this admin. You wanna talk about safety and protection and are willing to give up everything in order to attain that but you have no problems in giving up an agent which actually makes you more at risk. There is nothing worse than that. Clinton getting head isn't worse than that and all the ass loads of people pardoned by every sitting President will never equal this. Although Libby had nothing to do with that the fact that he covered for the people who did means he should become intimate with an 8 x 6. We all knew this was coming but it doesn't make it right.

Sandy Berger, who was national security adviser in the Clinton administration, got no jail time for illegally sneaking classified documents out of the National Archives by this prosecutor — while Libby received a 30-month sentence. $250K and 2 year probation for Libby is pretty serious....especially since he didn't initially leak Plame's name. By the time Libby was talking about it, it was common knowledge with the press. Armitage leaked it, the prosecutor ignored this fact.

Exctamundo!

Cheney will hook his boy up either way he will be living probably more comfortably than most of us.

What if I did the same thing should or would I get pardoned? No. So why should they? Because they work for this guy, or because they are part of the "gang"? It's BS that I can catch a petty weed case but these dudes get off with a slap on the wrist and don't tell me that Libby will have such a tough time being disbarred. Dude will be eating lobster & steak while I'm munching vegi burgers and cheap beer!

People on FOX arent touching Libby, he has the title of "liar" nobody cares what he thinks, unless you were deep into politics, you wouldnt have even known the name Scooter Libby, nobody gives a crap what this man thinks, he is going to take his little pardon, and youll never hear from him again, he isnt going to write a book or anything. He didnt steal from anyone, bad analogy, he covered the stupid VP for what he did and took the fall, was it wrong? yes. But he takes the heat, the elast he will get out of it is a get out of jail free card.

This is no "outrage" no "surprise" its politics as usual, its just another reason for people to get worked up about Bush who already hate the man.

First off stop being condescending, you are talking like this is class or something and im sure more than a few people could school you on a whole host of topics so leave that shit at the door.

seriously, im sitting on a laptop at the beach, on 56k, hitting refresh, it takes about 90 seconds to load the site, and this is all you give me? im expecting something 10x better from you Dingo.

Well, lucky for you, we dont live in a caste system, there is room for you to move up to be able to have Steak and Red Wine every night.

He wont get re-instated to the Bar anytime soon, and even so, no respectable firm will hire him. He has no name. His name is next to trash. A name to people in politics is worth more then anything you own.

really though, its not fair to call out any president on this stuff, is it right? no, but its part of the system and its part of what Presidents do, they make A LOT of promises to people along the way, and a "can you get my brother out of a jam" call isnt anything unusual for any person in power.

He actually wasn't pardoned, instead his sentance was commuted. Small difference, and it's possible that he'll eventually be pardoned if the appeals process is a failure.

I believe that any President will pardon one of their "boys" no matter if it's a Dem or Rep.
But the fact that Bush did it, and his approval rating is the lowest of any President in US history is what makes this situation more glorified.
Bush just can't catch a break, not that he deserves it.
He runs the country based on his religious beliefs, and what a load of crap that is.

I can only imagine what my daughter's history books are going to say about Bush.

Politics has gotten way out of hand. All it is is back stabbing and different parties trying to make the other look bad to win an election. It seems like the focus is winning an election instead of trying to get America is a better position.

Currently I don't follow politics and probably wont until things change.

But see the sad thing is I think alot people feel that same way. But if everybody just waits for change it will never happen and things will only get worse to the point where there is no going back.

Nicky your daughter's history books will be printed in Chinese or Russian.:chuckles:

This is a threat to national security and all people do is say other presidents have done the same thing. I just can't stress that enough i don't know why people don't get it. Our govt. has been run amok by these people. People taking classified documents people intentionally outing covert members of the CIA these things can not be justified by posting a list of people Clinton let off. How somebody can pass a law about all companies having to save email for 5 years then turning around and saying that they lost theirs is criminal. These people are not above the god damned law.

This isn't about the party this president belongs to or his background it has to do with content of his so called leadership. We all need to see this instance for what it is and thats a threat to the security of America.

Max you can laugh all you want about the Clinton thing but in all honesty it was none of our business to begin with. What a married man does in his spare time is between him and his family now if he has no idea what sex involves then thats on him. Thing is people love to call Clinton a liar but when Libby sits there and says he doesn't remember that's not a lie. Plus looking back at all the posts you were the very first one to jump in and say Clinton did it. You somehow managed to look past the actual meat and potatoes of the issue and then tried to tie in Bill effin Clinton. Look, i know Bill lied and he has done other things that aren't right either he's not Jesus. But his lying compared to Bush's lies or misstatements are apples and oranges and i think you would agree with that.
