Bush pardons criminal Scooter Libby

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I'm not going to get into the "who's the bigger liar" debate....it's an unwinnable debate for either side. With regards to Clinton lying, he didn't just lie about blowjobs and smoking pot...he's lied his entire career, he lies probably every day. I could list 100's of lies he's been caught in.

:chuckles:

"Clinton's an unusually good liar. Unusually good. Do you realize that?"
Bob Kerrey [D-Neb.], Esquire, 1/96)
Senator and Chairman of Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee

Again you fail to get what i mean. It's not about the most flamboyant liar or who lies the most its about what the lies are about. I guess in a way its about being a bigger liar but we aren't comparing the one that got away here.

I could sit and lie everyday of my life about what I do for a living, how much i make where i'm from but none of that matters at the end of the day. The difference with Libby lying and covering up or Bush or anybody else in the WH or connected to the WH is that they aren't lying or covering up trivial things. These are potentially life altering instances. Let's say for example 9/11 could have been stopped or the whole operation had been infiltrated by Plame or someone like her but for one reason or another the WH decided to give her up and 9/11 went on to happen. Then in the aftermath the one guy who could blow things wide open and get some justice handed down clammed up and then on top of that his prison time was taken away by the very same people who he covered for. Would you still dig up Clinton material to throw back?

I'm dealing in what if scenarios here but thats the whole point. Thankfully nothing bad has come of this but it shows that our govt could give a damn about you me or anybody else.

This just in breaking news...............................All Politicians Lie!

You heard it here first!

Do we really want a president that is going to "protect us"... here's a little clue here for all of you. No president can protect us, no single person will either. The second thing is the terrorism thing is so overdone and used. The fact remains if a terrorist organization wants to attack, they will succeed. Sure we may prevent a couple attacks here and there, but it will eventually happen. The best prevention method is not a good president, but better trained ATF, police officers, and law enforcement agents.

Secondly, to anyone that wants Kerry to run again. He was a God-awful candidate. Why would you want him to run again? He was never clear on what he wanted, nor would he ever give precise answer on anything. He should have never mentioned raising taxes, that wasn't smart. He didn't understand that he should have promised tax cuts, then raised them. In the 3rd year in office, he then should have made the cut. Everyone would have forgoten the raise since then and he'd be off scotch free. America may have made the wrong choice in electing Bush, but not the wrong choice in not electing Kerry.

Thirdly, do we really want someone who will stick with their political party? I mean it's so dumb, nothing gets done. The president is too busy trying not to piss off his party and blocking things that are good ideas just because his political party is against it. Vote independent! The whole politically correct thing is dumb too... Howard Dean was probably right for the job and the right Democratic cadidate, but he was pulled because of his emotional screaming.

Fourth, do we really want someone that's tied to oil companies or any company for that matter? I've had enough with Haliburton (sp?) and the oil companies. I realize that there's no way around this, but this is probably one of the only things Kerry sounded better about. What the hell would he do for a ketchup company that could screw the public or other businesses?

Fifth, this country needs to invest in capital... not weapons. Capital is what gives the country a return on the money that's spent... not missles. Human capital for starters would be great... revamp the education system. Put more money into it, this world is starting to be a solid playing field. If we don't start to make our kids smarter... we will be out of the loop in the best place for innovation. More high secured jobs will be outsourced and we will begin to decline as the best economy in the world. It's unfortunate a presidential candidate can't talk about this because it would bore the American public.

Same old shit, different day:

CIA Leak Lawsuit Dismissed
Share

July 19, 2007 3:44 PM

ABC News' Jason Ryan and Theresa Cook report: A federal judge has dismissed a civil law suit filed by outed CIA operative Valerie Plame Wilson.

The suit, filed by Plame Wilson and her husband, former ambassador Joseph Wilson, charged that Vice President Dick Cheney, White House political advisor Karl Rove, former Cheney aide I. Lewis “Scooter” Libby and former Deputy Secretary of State Richard Armitage damaged her career by leaking her name. She has since resigned from the CIA.

District of Columbia District Court Judge John D. Bates determined that the suit's claims “pose important questions relating to the propriety of actions undertaken by our highest government officials,” but dismissed the case because of a lack of constitutional remedy available to them.

President Bush appointed Bates to the bench in December 2001. Previously, he had served as deputy counsel to Kenneth Starr during the Monica Lewinsky investigation.

Plame Wilson’s identity was revealed in a syndicated column in July 2003. The revelation came shortly after Joseph Wilson criticized the Bush administration’s basis for the Iraq war in a New York Times op-ed. The couple has charged that the leak was part of a scheme to discredit Wilson’s claim.

Libby is the only person indicted in the CIA Leak probe; he was convicted by a jury in March on charges of lying to the FBI and a grand jury, as well as obstructing justice. President Bush commuted Libby’s 30-month prison term earlier this month.

Last week, Bush acknowledged publicly for the first time that "perhaps somebody in the administration did disclose the name" of Plame.

"I'm aware of the fact that perhaps somebody in the administration did disclose the name of that person," Bush told reporters during a White House press conference.

Melanie Sloan, executive director of Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington (CREW) and one of the Wilsons’ lawyers, said in a statement, “While we are obviously very disappointed by today’s decision, we have always expected that this case would ultimately be decided by a higher court.”

“We disagree with the court’s holding and intend to pursue this case vigorously to protect all Americans from vindictive government officials who abuse their power for their own political ends,” Sloan's statement continued.

CREW says the Wilsons’ lawyers are reviewing the decision, and anticipate filing an appeal.

This may be true, but none of his lies are jepardizing the country or ruining lives of civilians worldwide. Maybe you don't realize this, but he lied for a reason to go to war with Iraq. Good or not that he did go to war with them... are the American people not entitled to the truth about something this huge? He could have single handedly ruined this country, in more ways then one. Secondly he won't even admit he was wrong about it and despite everyone knowing he lied. He tries to cover it up or claim that he's not lying/did not lie. Third, if we have faulty intellegance then why would you use it the very next day? Common sense should tell you, hmmmm this is a bad idea.

Name one thing Clinton lied about that could have single handedly ruin this country/put all citezans in jepardy?
