Caitlin Clark

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
All major conferences have networks now, there is fox sports network espn has 4 networks, so much mens basketball is on tv. Does it really matter there is more womans games on now? Its not really at the expense of mens games, just an additional choice you can choose not to watch.

I am a huge Purdue fan, I did not miss one Purdue game all year. I also did not watch one woman's Purdue game all year, caught a few Iowa games because of Caitlin and a few tourney games because I like sports.

MY point is its weird to me that you are upset you have extra choices, that is why it comes off as misogynists to me, its one thing to not want to watch it, but its a whole different thing to actually be upset you have to flip past it when watching tv.

Hey, I live in Phoenix, tons of radio stations out here in Spanish, i dont complain about them or care one way or the other, I just flip past them.
I’m not mad only because it’s women though. Again if it was bowling or pickleball or any sport I don’t want to watch I would be upset. Just because it’s women, doesn’t mean I shouldn’t be able to say the sport is worse compared to men. If they started to show senior citizen men playing ball and that caught on I’d be just as upset.

Someone is gonna be big mad in a couple months when women are competing all day, every day for a couple weeks.
Basketball, Volleyball, Gymnastics, Track. You better cancel your PeacockTV and YoutubeTV.

I actually did just cancel Peakcock, only had it to watch college basketball.

Have you considered watching less television?

I actually don’t watch much television. I’meither at work or the gym. But at the gym when I can’t change the TV espn has women ball on. Like I said I’m not that upset about it. Was just voicing my opinion

I don't like when the only options are bad team A vs. bad team B. I don't want to see Northwestern State vs. Southeastern Louisiana as an option in men's or women's basketball, baseball/softball, tennis, golf or any other sport.

Okay, maybe women's volleyball.

I think (mostly) men don't enjoy watching the athletic level and competition of certain women's sports when they know the comparable men's game is at a much higher level. That being said, women don't support live women's sporting events in droves, either.

I can't watch much of women's softball with their field having equal or shorter dimensions as a boy's top class of pony league. I hit balls farther than their home runs in the sixth grade. Why is a 20 year old woman playing on the same field as a twelve year old boy?

Men's and women's tennis (which I watch if randomly flipping through channels) have the same rules and parameters except for the 5 sets vs. 3 sets. Women's golf (I don't watch either) play from shorter tees but the course after that is the same. Track and field are the same.

WNBA dimensions are the same... except for the ball. That one inch smaller and two ounces lighter would have Steph Curry shooting every ball from half court. And the three point line is 20 inches closer to the basket.

Didn't the Pacers have a woman on their roster in the 70? It's old news

I totally understand that point of view. I don’t give a rats ass about women’s sports either, however, I did watch a few minutes of Iowa lose another championship game.
Heck, I even accidentally watched 3 seconds of the WNBA draft the other night.

As I was looking for Raw.

Apologies if I related this story before …

Age 14 I swam a mile and was the second out of the pool in around 42 minutes.

My daughter was an age group swimmer beginning age 9. At 13 she swam her first competitive mile and I had to count out 66 laps (Pressure, if I screwed that up she could be DQd). Finished in a little over 23 minutes.

Male and female swimmers compete separately because the men are much faster for obvious physiological reasons. 42 vs 23 is genuinely humblin’ (not LeBron humblin’).

FACT is that the women’s final outdrew the men’s final - by a LOT. In fact it outdrew all but one of the NBA Finals games from last season.

I started this thread because my prior experience watching women’s BB was limited and it never impressed me. I heard Isola and Scalabrine rave about Clark so I watched it. She’s phenomenal as a passer and shooter and well worth watching. That’s all there is to it.

I watched the final game in Cleveland at a west side bar filled with old farts like me because that’s what they put on. We had to ask for a spare tv to put on Cavs Brooklyn Game. Kinda silly to me to get outraged about popular preferences in entertainment but people do get triggered by stuff.

Who’s triggered? I tried to get into it. I tried to watch at the gym. They had the tournament on and I don’t find players running fast breaks and getting blocked without the defender even jumping entertaining. Just because they’re women doesn’t mean I shouldn’t be able to say I don’t like to watch it. It’s not because they’re women it’s because I find it a bad product. I’ll watch a movie or play a game as a female action star, no complaints. I don’t care about female super heroes beating up 100 men because guess what a man can’t di that either.

Considering you're probably close to leading everyone with # of posts in the Caitlin Clark thread, maybe you do this to yourself with where you choose to focus your time and energy?

Sick of disputing claims that Juju Watkins is not an absolute cutie.
