Cavaliers Trade Ideas: 2022-23 regular season edition

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Id go
LeVert + Turner
for
Sexton, Love, 1st and 2x 2nd

Would love for Cleveland to pick up another ball handler like LeVert or maybe NAW from teams who are struggling and buy on the dip

FYI that Myles Turner is a cornerstone player for Indiana and one of the best defenders in the league. This would be a crazy trade because Indiana would never take it and if we did get Turner we would have to start him, which we don't have room to do -- unless we really did want to pursue the "4 7 footers plus Garland" lineup idea LOL.

I totally meant Jalen brown... ugh

Oh, we have zero chance. We have what it takes, but we have zero desire to trade them (Garland or Mobley)

Okoro + filler just wont get it done. Other teams have more to offer that will be in the hunt. And if we get Jaylen Brown without giving up our big 3, we are Contenders in the East for years and our draft picks wont be high enough to entice Boston.

Brown has had some weird locker room stuff around him in the past. I'd be hesitant to add him to this current group for that reason alone, let alone what it would cost.

Cornerstone, is a strong word for a player made available along with LeVert. If Cleveland gets him (big if at that, as this is fantasy talk), the coach dictates where he plays, not the player. And if the team is winning, not being a starter shouldn't be a big deal. The Cavs only real tough banger in the paint is Allen, second units with the likes of Aldridge, D. Howard, and Harrell have exploited that weakness.

I forgot about the strong fantasy component in these trade threads.

Yes, if we can get Jaylen Brown for Tacko Fall and Lamar Stevens we should definitely do it! Full speed ahead!

Then there is the "my player is trash except when it comes time for a trade idea" theme. So this board dumps all over Okoro regularly, with even his defenders saying only that he might someday be good, but all of a sudden he could be the centerpiece for a Jaylen Brown trade. Hmmm.

I actually think Brown would fit in really well with our guys. He is a gym rat and a very no nonsense guy. And he is very active in the community. I don't think he is the kind of guy who is going to go get in fight at the club in Miami the night before a big game (looking at you KPJ). There were some questions at the draft by garbage reporters who thought he was too intellectual to play basektball or something like that...I am a fan and if we have the chance to add him without costing Mobley/Garland, I 100% do it.

Any trade for a wing that begins with breaking up Garland/Mobley/Allen is a non-starter to me, unless that wing is a former MVP.

Sexton would be the center piece.
